New Temption Cameo Watch Finally Available
Last summer I told you about the new watch from Temption called the Cameo. It is their first square cased watch, and certainly unique. As is the case with most new watch announcements, the Cameo was announced long before actual release. Well, Temption has just announced that the Cameo is finally available. Actually, the watches are being shipped, but many are sold out until the beginning of 2009. For a company that makes fewer than 1000 watches a year, the demand for the Cameo watches must be overwhelming. Still, I don't doubt that Mr. Ulbrich, President of Temption is ensuring that each watch comes out perfectly.Temption is very proud of the process involved in attaching the sapphire crystal to the dial of the Cameo. As you can probably imagine, sapphire crystals are usually glued into place. This gives it a nice sealed look, but how strong is the bond? The Cameo uses a unique curved rectangular sapphire crystal (which I can imagine is expensive). Instead of gluing it to the dial and
Missed estimate by Clearwater
So I sent in my Diver under warranty to the Clearwater facility on the 4th of September to get an adjustment since the watch was running 15+ seconds a day. A couple of days later, I had recieved the estimate that the repair would be done by approximately about four weeks. At the end of the second week I gave them a call to get an update what has been done to my watch. They said that my watch is in QC and should be ready in a week (a week short of the estimate). I was very pleased. This week I gave them a call and she said that my watch is going back to the watchmaker because it has failed the quality control. She said that a pinion has to be replaced and they are ordering the part directly from Switzerland. Which it would take about another four weeks. I am worried that the watch would not be done before I leave the country and that they cant mail the watch outside the US. My question is has anyone here have the same issue that I am having (missed estimate) and how long does it take f
Breitling or Rolex
I thought I would post here in hopes of a little more neutral thoughts. Names aside, which company's watches do you prefer? I traded in my superocean heritage for the milgauss gv, and to be honest, I think I prefer the SO. I recently saw the transocean and absolutely love it. I know they don't quite carry the prestige of Rolex and the resale can be horrid, but I hate to feel like I may be owning something just for the name, when there is something I may enjoy more, and it is actually chreaper. The wife says to just get another watch. Not sure if I want $10k in watches.
Planet Ocean 45mm Rubber Strap Question
Wanted to see if anyone could answer a question regarding the PO 8500 45mm lug/strap fit. Will the older style rubber strap that was made for the 2500 PO fit/work? Really prefer that strap with the tang buckle over the newer rubber strap offering and am hoping that with the same 22mm lugs it would work. Any pictures would be help. Thanks
Whats your current opinion on The Rolex Way?
How do you guys feel now about The Rolex Way regarding SS sport models availability, waiting lists, inability to purchase a popular Rolex model for years, price, etc? I'm not bashing Rolex, I've been a proud owner for 16 years, I don't question what the Rolex brand stands for but I do question their recent business model and the treatment of it's core customer base.
