LVMH Reports Strong First Half Results
LVMH Mo?t Hennessy Louis Vuitton recorded revenue of 10.3 billion in the first half of 2011, an increase of 13%. Profit for the first half rose to 2.223 million, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2010, which had itself shown strong growth. Organic revenue for watches and jewelry grew by 27% and profit from recurring operations increased by 73%. The Group saw sustained growth in the U.S., Europe and Asia.LVMH attributed strong revenue growth at TAG Heuer to the automatic chronograph with the 1887 Calibre movement, to the new women's ranges in the Formula 1 line, and to the selective opening of TAG Heuer stores. TAG Heuer opened its flagship U.S. boutique in Las Vegas in June.New Hublot King Power models with manufacture Unico movements were also cited as contributing to the results.LVMH said Zenith saw strong demand for its new collections. The first half was also marked by the Group’s agreement with the Bulgari family for the contribution of its majority sharehol
Perrelet Turbine Diver Watch
2012 sees another variation on the popular Perrelet Turbine watch called the Turbine Diver - and it is just that. With a large case, internal rotating dive bezel, and 300 meters of water resistance, you can now combine your love of the spinning dial timepiece with your passion for sport watches. Well, at least I know I can.I've written about the Perrelet Turbine watch over the years and did a hands-on review of the Perrelet Turbine XL watch here. The high-end novelty watch continues to hold my attention. If you don't recall how it works, the Turbine is a play on the original Perrelet double rotor concept that has a second rotor on the dial which is connected to the rear rotor in the automatic movement. The turbine on the dial spins with the movement of your wrist. With enough inertia, it will spin pretty fast. Perrelet learned that by using large, bold hands as it does here - a high level of legibility can be maintained.Size-wise, the Turbine Diver is between the original 43mm Turbine
Seamaster 300 build 166.024
Was thinking about sourcing a 565 movement to send to archer watches to be built into a 166.024 seamaster 300 using new omega parts. I realize that the watch would appear new and even though its heart would be fully serviced it would still be around forty years old. My concern would be the resale value on something like this should I decide that I wanted to sell in the future. Do any of you omega guys have any advice, suggestions, or guesstimate on a value for something like this?
