Edward Norton Is New Male Face Of Breil Watch Ads: High Price For The Actor?
We can be safe in assuming that Edward Norton was richly compensated for being Italian watch designer "Breil's" newest brand ambassador. The contract stipulates that for the next two years, Norton will be the primary face for all of Breil's print advertising. He gets to wear the watch for hours while photographers attempt to capture his "essence" and transfer than to the watch. Norton is actually an interesting choice for Breil, and probably not the first person you'd think that a watch company would choose. Virtually everyone in the watch industry is extremely conservative and highly conscious of image. Personally, I am a huge fan of Ed Norton (and I'll watch basically anything he is in), but you have to consider his image based on the most popular movies he has been in.So when I hear of Ed Norton, I think of some specific movies he has been in. Recently, he was in another new "The Hulk" movie. Mostly he wore a Polar heart-rate watch to make sure he didn't turn into the Hulk. He destr

Patek 5146 vs 5327
I normally don't post much, but a relative recently asked me about a few different Patek models, and so I wanted to ask you guys for your thoughts. Here are the 3 models he's considering:5146/1G-001 (bracelet model)5146R-0015327G-001So I know it's hard to predict what will happen in the future, but he's wanting to know which one would be more collectible (holds better value, harder to find) in the future if he wants to pass it down to one of his kids/grandkids. He'll probably wear the watch only occasionally. I don't know much about Pateks, but my initial thought is that the 5146 (any metal) has been around for a long time and will be easy to find in the future. The 5327 is a new model, has a beautiful blue dial, but not sure if its production is limited. I also realize the 5327 is double the price of the 5146. Any thoughts about these models? Thanks,Brian
5712 Discontinue?
Does anyone know that will 5172 model going to be discontinue this year? I was shopping on 47th street Diamond district last week and the grey market dealer told me that all Patek 5172 model going to be discontinue and the price is going to jump again. Is that true or just another rumor?
Which would you buy first (Daytona or DD)?
As I narrow down to my top two favorites, I think over the next few years I'd like to buy a Platinum DD (36mm) and WG Daytona with the blue dial. It looks like an older Plt DD can be purchased for about the same price as the relatively new Daytona right now. So, outside of personal preference, is there a reason to chose one over the other right now, with the assumption that I'll buy the other one in a few years? For what its worth, I'll probably never feel comfortable paying full retail for a brand new platinum DD.
