Steve McQueen’s Rolex Submariner Ref. 5512 brought $234,000 including buyer’s premium at Antiquorum’s summer sale in New York City yesterday, setting a world record for that reference. Another McQueen item, his Scott Super Squirrel motorcycle painted by Von Dutch brought the highest bid of the day at $276,000. The Heuer Monaco McQueen wore during the 1971 filming of Le Mans far exceeded the pre-sale estimate, selling for $87,600. Other top performers included a Patek Philippe Ref. 5004 that brought $252,000 and an A. Lange & S?hne Tourbillon “Pour le M��rite” that brought $156,000. A Lange 1 Tourbillon in platinum sold for $144,000. Lot 299, a Patek Philippe Ref. 5250G Limited Edition Annual Calendar with Silicon Escape Wheel brought $138,000. guys i have been looking for a new watch for my birthday, my budget is around ��1600 so i can not get the Rolex that i would like the dates and datjust are to small, what breitling would you guys suggest? the prices seem to be all over the place and not sure what to get, the super avenger or a chronomat? any info would be great as i am new to breitlings cheersAndy

Omega Service.
Hi, question for you guys, I got my estimate from Omega today for service on my 2592.54 SMP. Its only 7 years old. They(Swatch Group) want 896.00 for full service on this watch. This includes new crown, new hands, new gaskets, overhaul the 3301 movement and polish the few scratches off the case and bracelet. The hands in my opinion were fine, Finks told me the lume was starting to peel and were afraid pieces would get into the movement. Original dial to remain.Is this a fair estimate or am I getting hosed? Granted its a genuine overhaul but jeeez!!! If I knew where else I could send it I might tell Omega to send it back. Any help appreciated and thanks in advance. AL
