New gold jumbo
The story of why I decided to buy a Royal Oak is covered in the thread on my 15400 purchase a couple months ago.Since then, I've been second guessing my decision not to get it in all gold. I have other PM pieces, but they're all in white gold. Then I tried the 15400 in all gold and even though I prefer that size in steel or two tone, I realized I really wanted 39mm if I was going full gold. TRF to the rescue with the 15202OR recommendation a few days ago. Made a good deal with Thanh (he's always the man), and today my new gold jumbo arrived!Pics...

The 2254. Is it a classic? Is it worth it?
Any frequenters of the also excellent Watchuseek forums may recognise this post, but I also thought of posting here too, as I find the members of this forum to be more knowledgeable :)After falling hopelessly in love with the 2254.50, I decided to pool my funds so I could get one....After searching the bay and other online resources, at this point of time; I have found that it retails (used, in reasonably good condition) from about $1200 to $1400 USD. As you all know, with Omega no longer producing the 2254.50, Omega fans have hinted at the idea of it becoming a classic. With this in mind, do you think prices will increase in the future?Should I get one now? With around the same amount of money I could get a brand new Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece, which I also like very much... Something along the lines of this:Any thoughts? Is the hype surrounding the 2254 really justified?

I just got a call from my AD and we have tickets to the Australian Tennis Open..gotta love a freebie.... cheers
Looking for advice on the best way to buy used
I've been lurking around this forum for years lusting over the various watches in Rolex's line. After many years, I've finally settled in on the one watch I want, the 39mm Explorer I.Specifically, I want the current version that was updated in 2016. Looking at Rolex's site, the current MSRP is $6,550. I know there is room to negotiate with AD's. I understand your mileage may vary here depending on the AD and the model in question (for example, no one is giving any discounts on Subs). That said, I've seen many example of discounts in the 10-12% range. I don't think the Explorer I is a hot watch, so I don't think it would be outside the realm of possibility to get a 10% discount from an AD, which would put the cost at $5,895.I've got two questions specific to trying to purchase this watch used:1) I know there are many trusted sellers here on this forum. That said, I don't typically see many used Explorer I's posted, especially those that are the newest version. Can you proactivel
