Ferragamo 1898 Moonphase Chronograph Watch
Rather handsome, I enjoy how this new piece from Ferragamo mixes sport and sophistication. The mainstay piece for Ferragamo timepieces is the F-80 watch collection. It is a very impressive design that I think has been dismissed by a lot of serious watch guys. This new Ferragamo model is the 1898 Moonphase Chronograph with a good look and pitifully underwhelming name.Do I need to go on with another rant on how the watch industry needs to stop naming their own watches? There are literally only a handful of brands that know properly title and market their watches. With such cleverness in design, how is there so little effort put into simple things like words. Ferragamo for example is a serious fashion industry name - really into image and classiness, and all that good stuff that sells clothing. How is it that with their talent and the serious machine that is Timex, no one is on "good watch name duty?"OK, little tangent here. Say you are wearing your new timepiece acquisition and really pr
Patek 5711 bezel change.
So I sent and email regarding a change of bezel. Just because I am one of those annoying guys that loves having a piece of mind before purchasing a watch for a worst case scenario event. Each Patek Philippe timepiece is unique, with specific numbers on its movement and case and is covered by a 2-year Product Guarantee. For these reasons, Patek Philippe will always prioritise an intervention on the specific timepiece instead of replacing it.Kindly notice, the case of the timepiece 5711/A is composed with a bezel and a middle case. The price for the bezel should be approximately CHF 850.-, unfortunately we are not allowed to communicate the price for the middle case.-------------------------------Now my question is this. Should a bezel change be enough to fix a deep dent in the case that cannot be polished off because of too much case having to be removed; or would this middle case also have to be changed?I don't see how it's possible to damage the middle case. Also, on that note. What happ
Anyone have a two tone black bay?
We don't hear much about the two tone BB's rarely do I recall ever seeing one listed for sale here on the forum either. I can't put my finger on why but here lately they are peaking my interest more and more. I am sure they fall in third place to many behind the black or blue Subs depending on ones tastes. I've never been a huge fan of the blue Sub. Must admit the black two tone Sub is nice but I can't see myself wearing it over my SS Subc. The Black Bay however as similar as it is or isnt has a totally different appeal to me. Anyone else around here feel the same about the TT Black Bays? It might just be next on my list. You can save the; its only gold capped and its only for folks who can't afford a real Rolex comments. I've got two precious metal pieces in my collection along with one I gave my wife for Christmas.
