Patek Philippe Horology Programme Of New York Watch School
A career path in watchmaking is not something very often offered to kids leaving school. Before we know it, we're off to college or straight into the world of work without so much as acknowledging the continued existence of horology. These days, I'm so ingrained in the watchmaking industry, it stuns me when people express amazement that assembly and after-sales processes are performed by real humans, not super-accurate machines. But you needn't spend much time at the knee of an old watchmaker to understand why. The mechanics of haute horlogerie are not quite the same as anything else. And it isn't about intricacy, per se, it's about experience; it's about all the silly little things that don't make rational sense; simply put, it's all about time. Patek Philippe have underlined their understanding of this fact by investing in an on-site school at their New York service centre.By running a two-year course, dubbed the Patek Philippe Horology Programme Of New York, focused on equipping new
My Custom Breitling Bentley. What Do You Think?
hey guys,I just wanted to pop in and share some photo's with you guys and see what everyone thinks?I had this 5.2 carat bezel made for my breitling bentley 6.75the thing that is so cool about this bezel is I had it made to function and look like the factory bezel. This bezel still spins the inner bezel.. it fully functions and has the same notches on the out side like the original.. As most aftermarket bezels are presure fitted. this one is attached to the watch by 4 screws just like the original bezel. The only question I had for you guys if anyone know this i hope? This bezel was die struck not cast.. which is a better way to make bezels is by die struck so i'm told.My question is, I was told due to stainless steel being to hard to work with to make a bezel that functions like this one, they made it out of plad and mixed alloys like polladium silver nickel and a little stainless steel. I have never heard of anything like that before. I guess they just needed a softer metal to work wit
Planet Ocean 2500
I tried a Planet Ocean 2500 at a Omega boutique store, and I nearly took this one home today. Cooler heads prevailed, as I need to make sure it's what I really want. The model I tried was the non orange model with a waterproof leather strap. It was also the 41.5 mm model, which did fit me very well. The only thing stopping me from the newer 8500 model is the price and the thicker size... For those of you with a P0 2500, please post photos and contribute your thoughts to the this enabling threat, as I might head back to the Omega boutique store this week....
Speedy style bracelet on new SMP-C...
Well for those who were curious to whether the 'old' style speedy bracelet would fit the new SMP-C the answer is a resounding yes . No machining needed at all and you can use the SMP-C spring bars (which I believe are the same as the 'old' SMP ones)...I am really digging this combo . This is actually the fully brushed (sides and middle links) speedy bracelet form the GMT. It looks less busy than the bond, is lighter (then the new SMP-C bond at least) and I also like the fact that it tapers slightly to 18mm at the clasp. The only downside it uses friction pins rather than screws. A couple crappy HTC photos but at least you get the idea ...

Gentleman what are your thoughts on this timepiece? How is the movement? Is it a scratch magnet? I think it's beautiful. I'm seriously considering getting one. I'd love to hear your opinions first. Thanks!!!!
