Watches NEWS
It finally arrived.....
So, I am finally a member of the Audemars Piguet club.My new watch arrived this morning having been delayed by weather on both sides of the Atlantic. I'm rather busy but of course made time to open the boxes quickly..... I will take it to be sized tomorrow, and then the stickers will awff!My thanks to Darren Reay who sourced and delivered the watch BNIB. He has been a pleasure to deal with.I'll be altering my signature soon!
Speedmaster Racing - Thoughts?
So I stumbled upon this new iteration of the classic Speedy the other day while window shopping and had absolutely no clue what it was! After a bit of reading I am somewhat intrigued by this offering from Omega. What are your thoughts?Have to admit I'm very tempted by the Red and Blue dialed versions! (not my photos to credit to the original photographer)
Speedy winder
I didn't think i had big fingers until i tried to wind this Speedmaster Pro. Have you ever seen a helper tool, or should i just hand it to my DW and ask her to wind it like i've been?
Not something I ever expected to have in my collection, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut..
So recently, I've been narrowing down my collection a little. I still have a decent sized box full of a variety of watches, but there's no doubt I've been culling the watches I don't wear as much. This has included the new Daytona, various vintage pieces, a couple of Yacht-Masters etc.Another reason for me doing this was the fact I had the Nautilus from Patek in mind. I'd rang a fair few dealers with no luck of getting hold of one in double quick time, and I'd all but given up. I was also struggling a little with watch insurance above certain values, and didn't really know where to go with things. That was until I passed the window of a Patek Philippe boutique whilst away for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I visited a town that I wasn't particularly familiar with on my day off from the festival, and they had a couple of watches I was intrigued by. These were a solid rose gold 5711r Nautilus, and an Aquanaut. It felt rude not to try them on of course!Well the Nautilus was stunning. Howe
Sky-Dweller on small wrists
I'm curious if anyone here with small wrists wears a Sky-Dweller. I have a 6-1/4 wrist and my GMT fits alright but I'm worried the Sky-Dweller might look silly on me, especially if the trend towards larger watches passes. Also, I'm curious how heavy the SS or TT SkyD is. I prefer watches with a bit of heft but I'd like to get an idea of how it compares to something like a DJ 41.
