Cl de Cartier Mysterious Hour Watch
The Cartier Cl ("Cl de Cartier") Mysterious Hour watch is probably my favorite new Cartier men's watch model debuted here at Watches & Wonders 2015 in Hong Kong. It is actually a combination of three existing Cartier elements. First, is the also new-for-2015 Cl de Cartier watch (hands-on here) collection case. Next, is the in-house made Cartier caliber 9981 MC which was debuted in 2013. And last, is a presentation of Cartier's particular form of semi-skeletonized dial that we have seen from almost the beginning of Cartier's higher-end "haute horology" collection of timepieces. In 2013, I went hands-on with the Rotonde de Cartier Mystery watch that was inspired by historic Cartier clocks which use transparent discs to move hands. These were dubbed "mystery clocks" because it was not obvious how the hands were connected given the illusion that they were floating. This technique has been applied to timepieces before, but Cartier introduced the "mystery" hands which are on transparen
Bell Ross Quantieme Perpetual watch also offers the date indication
The display of the new Bell Ross Quantieme Perpetual watch also offers the date indication in a double aperture at 12 o'clock. The day and the month are shown at 3 and 9 o'clock respectively. The retrograde EaZy adjust function is proposed at 6 o'clock.
This watch is for those who really get into complex mechanical complications
This watch is for those who really get into complex mechanical complications. Instead of a regular perpetual calendar, this watch is designed to follow a 1,000 year without correction cycle and takes into account the rule governing the Gregorian calendar. A Europastar article breaks down the details. The watch is available in four versions and uses a Cintrée Curvex curve automatic movement.
Seamaster, suggestions for a less flashy band?
Hello, I have the Seamaster professional 41mm (20mm) band (the James Bond style), its the Quartz one and while I like and appreciate the quality of the band am looking for something less blingy. I am not a fan of nylon for hygenic resons (watch will be in the water frequently) and not a huge fan of silicone/rubber b/c I like the watch to slide to the bottom of my wrist vs. getting stuck to it.Also, I like the clasp on the OEM band b/c its quick and I trust it. I don't like the traditional ones you have to stick through a hole, takes too long. Also, I like the expandable feauture of the OEM one, its a must for wetsuits. What are my options out there (Omega or other brands) other then a brushed ss one with expansion clasp? (pls let me know if any simple Submariner style brushed ones as well with the expension). Are there rubber/silicone bands out there that use a clasp and have an expension or wet suits?? TIA
Good stock in Long Island
Stopped into London Jewelers in Southampton today. Had the sub, sub date, DSSD, polar explorer and all Milgauss models. Pretty light on DJ 41's though. Did not buy anything but good selection for members seeking one of these references.
