Gerald Genta Gefica Bi-Retro Safari Watch Available On James List: A True Collectible
I continue to lament the loss of watch industry design and figure-head Gerald Genta who died this year. People tend to remember him most for his classic contributions to the industry - which include 1970s' designs for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Vacheron Constantin Overseas, IWC Ingenieur, and Patek Philippe Nautilus. Granted these were all amazing and endearing designs - though they were however obvious siblings of one another. My colleague at Fratello Watches discusses those here a bit. Personally, I am a bit more interested in his later work. All that is summed up and epitomized in the Gefica Bi-Retro.The modern interpretation of the Gefica concept is a watch I dearly want to add to my collection (and I rarely say things like that about watches that are no longer being made). As time goes on the leadership Genta took in terms of design risk and innovation is clear. For example, right now bronze watches are all hot and in. The Gefica was mostly in bronze when most people laughed a

Where can I find NATO straps for guys with Xl wrist? It's a pain to find them unfortunately. I have Aaron at Combat Straps making me a nice leather but looking for something to rotate. Input please!!
Current Speedmaster Professional MSRP
Quick question for the Omega experts....What is the current MSRP for a Speedy Pro (3750.50.00)? I saw $4,050 recently on a google search but then heard that Omega just had a price increase. I'm thinking of adding this iconic watch to my collection. Would appreciate this info if you have itThanks guys
PP Open Face PW #233873
Hi everyone,I have a 18k YG open faced Patek Phillipe pocket watch - case # 233873 and movement # 122480. The back is engraved, but in the absence of an AD I was wondering if anyone here can provide a good resource online that I can use to get an idea of its value. I can get around to taking pictures at some point Thanks!
Let's see some movement pics everyone!!!
I have always loved watches with visible movements, so much that I even put a sapphire case back on my sub c LN, I know the movement is nothing special so it might be considered stupid, but it was nice to look at from time to time.I have fallen in love with the 5712, and probably 50% of that love is due to the beautiful movement, I am more than sure that when I will have it I will be looking for a few hours a week at the movement with tears in my eyes If the 5712 didn't have a see through case back I am sure I wouldn't have ordered it.There are a few older Nautilus without the see through and even if they are nice it just doesn't do it for me.Of course the most beautiful movements are usually the ones of hand wound watches, but it's most of the time very expensive pieces. After getting my 5712, maybe in 1-2 years, I am thinking of getting either a 5167 SS on tropical strap, and once again 50% of the interest is the beautiful movement, if not the Aquanaut then probably an Audemars Pigue
