Watches NEWS
Seamaster vs. Speedmaster for an everyday wearer ??
Good day all, I did a quick search, and this question never came up (that or I overlooked it lol). Anyway, in the recent future, I plan on adding another Omega to my stable. I already have the Seamaster 2531.80 bond watch, and absolutely love it. However, I don't want to put heavy wrist time on that watch, and want to buy another one for a daily beater. It would be on my wrist 23 hours of the day, 7 days a week. I work in the retail industry, so the watch will not be desk diving, but it won't be getting all beat to crap everyday of the week ether. I always go to the beach at least 5 times in the year, and love to swim (I NEVER dive). I guess that's about it. I LOVE the Planet Ocean 45.5mm 600M dive watch, but I also like the Speedmaster moon watch. Not so much because of the style of the watch (even though it too looks good) but becusae of the history behind it, the manual wind, non-sapphire Chrystal, etc. So, I don't know, for a daily watch that can handle it in the field everyday, wh
233 straps
Who do you guys recommend for straps? I had a couple made from the Strap Smith a few years back but I find they are thicker than I like to wear. I have larger wrist and although the XL OEM straps fit they seem just a bit lopsided and are hard to come by. I've seen straps from Dangerous9straps and they look like good work but after a few emails trying to place an order he just stopped writing. I would rather someone point me in the right direction than to keep trying at a few hundred a pop. Thanks
YM vs Sub
I'd love to hear from anyone who's owned both. The YM is one model I haven't ever owned but always been tempted. Do they wear much different (in particular the Sub C which is my current)? Does the YM seem same size or wear bigger/smaller? How's the weight? Any other information would be great!
Incoming - My New Favorite Personal Jeweler Came Through
I guess I have developed a great relationship with one of the Personal Jeweler , that's her official title at a SoCal AD near my work. She's the same person who back in December offered me a BLNR and said they are really hard to come by, at that time I thought that she was just making up a story to get me to buy the watch. I did like the BLNR that day but didn't pull the trigger. I came back a week after for it but she said their security guard bought the BLNR. I completely regretted that I hesitated in buying the watch. I told my Personal Jeweler to call me as soon as they get another BLNR in stock. So my PJ calls me up a couple of days later saying that her boss won't add me to the waiting list because I don't have a transaction history with their store. I was like fine there are other ADs in the area, I'll just try my luck there. I've been visiting 3 ADs in my area for about a month without any luck. One AD wanted 50% down payment with about 4-6weeks ETA, I didn't like tha
Black bay dark
Good day TRF,I have been thinking to add the tudor black bay dark for a while. I really like the idea of having all black watch for a change. I think it is fun and out of the normal steel / pm regular looks. It would be used as part of a rotation and mostly in weekends and casual occasions. I checked few options in breitling and Panerai but honestly the BB dark was the one that spoke to me most. I also like the black shield from tudor specially due to the fact that it is made of ceramic and it looks very cool. But what hesitates me of going the black shield route are: the ETA movement as opposed to bb dark's in house, the lack of bracelet (I prefer bracelets over straps) and the poor resale value. On the other hand, I keep reading that the pvd coating of the BB dark will get scratches and will look very bad in short time. I am usually careful with my watches but you never know. So I want opinions / experiences of bb dark owners here and recommendations of all are welcome. Thank you.
