Concord Watches Ride The Hype Machine
Something positive first. I give credit to Concord, or whoever Concord is hiring for being creative. Though I question the effectiveness of it all. I have to first pull myself aside and consider my own position in the watch world. Someone in the know, someone who sees most of what comes out. So consider this a biased opinion by someone who might know what they are talking about. A bit of history - Concord is owned by the Movado group, and couple of years ago it was likely decided that because the brand was not pulling its weight, they would attempt to revitalize the brand into a different kind of manly high end watch. For this they repositioned the brand as a niche product maker and hired a new president in 2006, Vincent Perriard. Since then Concord has released one watch, the C1 - In a bunch of different flavors.I've never been quiet about the fact that I don't like the design of the Concord C1. I've also been pretty straight forward on how I feel about their new QuantumGravity watch
Offered a blue 15400. Should I take?
Hey all,Just picked up a white dial 15400 last month, but the boutique called and offered me a blue dial. Are they really that rare that it would be worth purchasing? Is there a flip opportunity? I would possibly trade my white dial, but if I would take a wash on the blue I wouldn't really be into it.Thanks!
Is discount on a nautillus possible at Ad?
Has anyone purchased a nautillus at a discount? Or is this a watch , similar to a Daytona, where discounts can not be had?
Pateks refreshed website
It looks very nice. They list prices in CHF, but what’s up with this: “*Current price including VAT applicable at our Patek Philippe Salons in Geneva, Switzerland. Authorized retailers may determine the price to their customers.” I don’t like this at all! Does that mean ADs can charge whatever they want???
I asked + You answered = INCOMING!!!
First of all, I have never thought I would be able to own a Patek. I am just a Queens boy.. humble beginnings.. and man.. only if my old man could live to see this. He would be like: Get out of here... really??. Better yet, I wish I had the chance to buy him one FIRST! Still, better late than never. My watch journey has been filled with 5K-10K type pieces from Rolex to Panerai so stepping up to Patek, I had to take a deep breath and say yes, let's do it! After I sold off my AP diver(which was beautifully crafted but a touch top heavy for my smaller wrist), I knew I was ready to rip it up and go for it. 5167 was immediately in mind since the pricing was more palatable and also fits the rubber sporty theme found in the diver. Then the forward looking part of me immediately took over and said if we are looking to spend $20K, why not consider other options within the same ball park? With advice from many here, I immediately narrowed the options down to 5167, 5164 and 5711(and thus,
