Only Watch 2015 Auction Results: Another Record for Patek Philippe
The sixth edition of the biennial Only Watch charity auction took place on November 7th at Geneva’s La R��serve, with 44 one-of-a-kind timepieces, sold under the hammer of watch expert Aurel Bacs, Co-Founder of Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, raising an astounding 11.2 million Swiss francs ($11.2 million) for the cause of battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.The highlight of Only Watch 2015 was a unique Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 Grande Complication (below) that sold for 7.3 million Swiss francs ($7.26 million), setting a new record for the highest price ever paid for a wristwatch at auction.Another standout was the Tudor Black Bay One, below (which we covered here), fetching a final price of 375,000 Swiss francs, more than 100 times its pre-auction estimate. In all, more than 300 bidders were in attendance, with numerous others bidding online and by phone. Went to an Omega boutique today.
So I went to omega today to change my strap on my watch and the sales man that sold me my watch brought out some new watches for me to try on and he mention the the blue dial speedmaster 57 is hard to come by. Hello all,I've just arrived in London and will be here for the next 10 days. I am planning to do some watch shopping over the weekend and have some questions for the UK guys on the forum:1. I've had recommendations to go to New/Old Bond Street - are there any recommendations beyond this street?2. As a non-resident of the UK, do AD's here rebate instantly or are there limitations to a VAT refund for luxury items?3.
