The B.R.M. Birotor Caps Things Off
Up until recently, I had not heard of the independent watch brand B.R.M. and their line up of racing-inspired watches - but I'm glad I stumbled across them. The model we'll focus on today is another entry into the trend of what I consider to be an industrial style.Of course, you could quite easily argue that it's simply the automotive racing nature of things informing the style, and it's not something I'd put up a fight about. That said, I've been noticing (especially on the higher end models) that when you get to an open-worked watch, such as this one with plenty of open space, the case takes on a more industrial feel, as if to mimic the machinery in the movement. This 40 x 48mm titanium case is no exception to that rule, with what are (I believe) functional hex head fasteners at the lugs, allowing for three positions of adjustment. Moving along to the crown, it looks like a pinion gear stacked on top of a "regular" gear. Then you have the cutouts on the side of the case (with sapphire
Watch Spotting: An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph On The Wrist Of Danny Willett During The Green Jacket Ceremony
England's Danny Willett was already reaching for his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph when Jordan Spieth missed a short putt for birdie on the 16th hole, all but sealing the race for the 80th Masters. And the carbon watch was on Willett's wrist by the time he was presented with the Green Jacket, the first of his career.Spieth looked to be on course for his second consecutive Masters title, leading the pack from day one and starting strongly on the final round. But the young American crumbled on the back nine, scoring a quadruple-bogey on the 12th and leaving room for an unlikely comeback. Willett, who started the day three shots behind Spieth, fired a 67 to capture the 80th Masters title.Audemars Piguet is strongly linked to the golfing community. The manufacture's CEO, Fran?ois-Henry Bennahmias, once had a promising golf career in front of him, ranking as high as #25 on the French golf tour before pursuing a career in luxury. But he's stayed very close to the professiona
In-Depth: A Visit To Kansas City For The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute's 2015 Natio
The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute held its 2015 national convention in Kansas City last week and by all accounts it was a massive success. With many upstart American watch brands in attendance, the theme for this year's convention was The Rebirth of the American Watchmaking Spirit. HODINKEE was there to learn more about the history of this venerable organization, and what is in store for its future. 1 OF 9 The convention was held at Kansas City's glamorous Hotel Phillips. The AWCI is America's professional organization for the horological industry. The institute was founded in 1960 when regional watchmaking guilds found it in their best interest to organize on a nationwide basis. You may recognize the name of one of the founding regional guilds of the AWCI – the Horological Society of New York. Today, the AWCI represents America's watchmakers and clockmakers through a range of education, certification and business services. In addit

Datejust 41 and wrist size
Hi, I am looking into buying my first real watch and fell for this Datejust 41 with smooth bezel and jubilee bracelet. The thing is, I got fairly smart wrists. Do you guys think this watch looks too big on me?
