Photo Report: Inside Panerai's Flagship Boutique In Florence
There are a few stores around the world that any watch lover must make a point of visiting – Panerai's flagship in Florence is certainly one of them. The historical home to Panerai dating back to 1860, the shop was just re-imagined and expanded in November of 2014. Here is a quick look inside. 2 OF 31 Located in the Piazza San Giovanni, facing the city’s impressive Duomo, Officine Panerai’s historic boutique is now 285 square meters (the previous was 58), designed by famed architect Patricia Urquiola. Inside the duplex boutique you fill find a nod to Panerai's marine history, as well as many of the latest models. 3 OF 31 The Florence boutique has always been the emotional and commercial home to Panerai, and still today one may find a handful of watches for sale there that you won't find anywhere else, including this year's hand-engraved PAM604 Firenze limited edition. 4 OF 31 The façade of the store reta
Help Fund A New Three Book Series On American Wristwatches In The Deco Period
The boys over at Worn & Wound turned us onto what appears to be a very noble project out of LA - the production of a three book series on American wristwatches during the deco design period.? The first book, centered completely on the Hamilton Watch company, has already been produced and is ready to ship.? Mr. Ty Alibert Rulli has turned to Kickstarter for the funding of the next two books, and the promotion of the entire series.? His goal is to reach $75,000.? Read more about it right here and pledge away!
It arrived: Aquanaut 5167A-001
Finally was able to collect an Aquanaut 5167A-001 today (attached).A proud owner of a Calatrava 5120G I long since concluded that that particular watch is for formal occasions and the Aquanaut would be the perfect, every day watch. For anyone still seeking one, my dealer told me the price goes up on 1 March so I believe I was fortunate to get one with days to spare!
5712R vs 5980AR
i am wondering whether it is a good decision to let the 5712R go for the 5980AR...there would be some cash involved on my side but the deal seems reasonable. i know, TT and all that....but the dial of the 5980AR is so amazing.....on the other hand i am wondering whether both watches do not overlap with my 5711R too much.....the other pieces in my collection are: rolex batman, 5227R, 5119J (i share both calatravas with my wife), rolex daydate YG incoming.....
Rotor movement in p.9000 movement (Pam312)
Hey guys,I am aware that many people have mentioned that the rotor in their p.9000 is rough, which is how I would describe the rotor in my Pam 312. When I try to spin watch with it off, the rotor fully spins only a few times max. That said, the watch doesn't lose power when I normally wear it.However, I cam across this youtube video of a Pam 312 which has a silky smooth rotor that freely spins a number of times with a strong thrust. Is this the way the rotor is supposed to spin? Because mine is not nearly as smooth.https://.youtube/watch?v=CVX_aLYqkIg
