New From Perrelet: Air, Sound, and Eternity
For 2009, Perrelet introduces two new watches and a limited edition set with two timepieces in a special case. The first new model, known as the Turbine, takes Perrelet's double rotor design to a new level. The dial-side rotor is transformed into a 12 bladed titanium turbine that covers the whole of the dial. The turbine-inspired rotor spins beneath an outer ring bearing the luminous numbers. Luminous markers on the under dial accentuate the multi-dimensional effect. Turbine models measure 44mm in diameter and are powered by Perrelet's P-181 double-rotor movement. Turn this timepiece over to view angled and polished black lacquered bridges through the sapphire case back. The Turbine collection is available in plain titanium, DLC-treated titanium, and 18K pink gold. Look for Turbines to reach retailers in October. The Maestro Edition by Perrelet is a limited edition set that includes two timepieces in a very special case. The first watch is an automatic 5-minute repeater with hours, minu
The Sinn U1000 From WatchReport.com
I've written about Sinn watches before, and in particular, their commitment to innovative engineering. Now it looks like they have outdone themselves once again with a new dive chronograph. Meet the Sinn U1000, a mechanical watch waterproof to 1,000 meters (3,300 feet), and available in either steel or PVD black.
My New Incoming...First in Over 2 Years
It's been a while since I made a change to my small watch collection. TRF introduced me to the world of AP, and so I think it's fitting that I post my new incoming here as well. My first AP is the Panda ROC and also my last addition, which was over 2 years ago. I had enjoyed the ROC tremendously but unfortunately I had to sell it to fund this new piece. I will really miss my Panda ROC, but the new AP is absolutely stunning and exceeds what I had imagined it to be. I had been dreaming of it since it was first released the month after my son was born, and I have now finally acquired it. Big thanks to the trusted seller on TRF for making this happen. If you have read this far....I am assuming you are wondering where the photos are The mandatory FedEx box picI love the new green boxes from AP!!My new 15202 Jumbo! Wrist shotI think my other watches will have to take a back seat for a while And a tribute to my ROC (that the Jumbo replaced):
Speculation on 5970 numbers
Hi Everyone,Seeing that most people would ask their Genie for a 5970, I tried to find out how many were produced.Obviously I know its speculation as Patek does't publish number but I found a thread about this and wonder if many of you would roundly agree of disagee with some of their conclusions......firstwristwatch/patek-1/I...continued.html
Incoming - My First Rolex
I'm incredibly happy to be able to say that the DaytonaC is my first ever Rolex. It was just like John Mayer said in his discussion with Ben: you simply put it on and start to own it without really thinking about it. The proportions are perfect and the watch just feels right on the wrist - like it's been there for many years already. Also, the DaytonaC white dial is imo the most beautiful Rolex there is. Such a wonderful piece.
