Linde Werdelin Gets In The DLC Game With The Hard Black Elemental Biformeter Watch
I've appreciated the Elemental watch from England based Linde Werdelin for a while. I still don't understand the "Biformeter" name on the watch, but it sounds cool enough. The watches were always nice looking, very rugged, and techie looking timepieces better suited to James Bond style excursions rather than lumberjack journeys.The newest Elemental is the "Hard Black" and shares most of its features with the previous Linde Werdelin Elemental watches save for the new case material. Getting on the DLC bandwagon (that I predicted would occur) with other fine watch brands, Linde Werdelin likes what DLC can offer. Again, DLC stands for "diamond like carbon" and is a coating on metal that makes it crazy hard, and crazy scratch resistant. This might explain why this new watch is called "Hard Black." Magrette Moana Pacific Chronograph Review
We were very excited a few months ago when Magrette announced the upcoming release of two chronographs built around Seagull ST1901 movements. We thought, wow, there's a brand that is willing to take a little risk to bring out an interesting and affordable watch. Mechanical chronographs are unfortunately all too rare in the sub $1,000 price range, largely because few brands other than ETA make movements that boutique brands can use. So, using a Chinese movement to reach an accessible price point is a great thing to do. On top of that, we already knew from Blake's review of the Regattare that Magrette makes quality watches with interesting looks. I heard that the screws are white gold, is this a fact? Was curious if this was true or not. Is anything else gold on the watch other then the rotor on the movement?

Thinking of picking up a blue rubber strap for my seamaster, thought it might be a nice change of pace, a little more sporty, etc...Does anyone have a recommendation on where to pick one up? Thanks guys!

I walked into an AD this afternoon looking for one of the hard to find Rolex SD43. As always, it wasn't in the case, but I did ask the saleslady about it's availability. She said they did not have one in stock at the moment. I mentioned to her I called a week ago asking about it's availability and was told they are taking orders for the watch but on the condition payment is made in full.I asked about ETA on the order. She said up to 3 months. I told her I wasn't keen on waiting that long for it.
