How Precise is Your Watch? Test It with the Lepsi Watch Scope
For everyone who’s ever read a watch test or review in WatchTime and wished they could test their own timepieces for accuracy at home and without making the major investment of a Witschi timing machine Geneva-based Lepsi has an ideal stocking stuffer: the Lepsi Watch Scope, essentially a stethoscope to read the “heartbeat” of a mechanical watch. The Watch Scope is a compact device (retailing for 369 Swiss francs, that syncs with your smartphone to measure a mechanical watch’s vital stats including rate variation, amplitude and beat error in just seconds. Best of all, it is small enough to carry around with you, meaning you can actually bring it on a trip to a retailer to measure the accuracy on-site of a timepiece you’re considering purchasing. To use the Watch Scope, you first need to download (either from the Google Play or Apple App store) the Lepsi Watch Scope app for installation on your smartphone. While connected to wifi, open the app an
Interesting outing
I'm not sure which forum to post this in given the range of brands involved, but thought I'd try the AP forum, as this is where I spend most of my time. Last night I used the excuse of a trip to my tailor to get out of the office to do a quick circuit of some of the grey dealers and ADs in Tsim Sha Tsui and encountered quite a nice selection of watches. The Rolex ADs had nothing of interest, but I did come across the Sea-dweller 43 - for an absurd premium over MSRP (in line with what these are going for here, though) but it was good to try it on. And I must say that I found it a bit disappointing - it seemed much smaller than I'd been expecting (not helped by putting it on after taking off my AP 44!). I liked it...didn't love it - but removing any sense of urgency to acquire this is good for my bank balance. At the same dealer; I also had the chance to try on the AP 44 summer edition - while I wouldn't wear this enough to justify the purchase, it is a really striking pieceOn a lark, I
Need help to identify its authenticity on Ebay
Hi guys I really need some help here, I am looking at this AP on ebay .ebay/itm/272367339875...%3AMEBIDX%3AITThe seller didn't explain why the winner didn't purchase the watch, I sent him an email and he offered me the watch. I can not really tell the difference from the picture provided on ebay. However he did email me 2 pictures today with closer shot and I felt the engravings on the back look a bit different from other watches that are exactly the same model. Details: He asks to paypal $10k due to limitation withdraw on his paypal account and bank wire him the rest. I called paypal and find out his email is not registered with paypal. He does have decent feedback and so far the stories he has given seems to match, he gave 2 ebay ID (1 has 300 feedbcak and 1 has 40 feedback) who he claim he sold the watch to but didn't go through ebay, I contacted them and both replied with decent feedback. I do want to give him the benefit of the doubt and I was hoping to get some help here. HE ALSO
