Kudoke 69 Eros Skeletonized Erotic Watch, NSFW
Erotic watches are a curious thing. I don't know too much about the culture behind them, or the people who collect them. They sort of feel like toys for the sexually repressed. There are good and bad examples of these types of watches out there, but they are almost always combined with classic looking timepiece elements. Perhaps that is to help justify the "art" behind the watch. Personally I am amused by them. I find the quizzical concept appealing for what it is. I am probably not the target market for such watches, but I still get a kick out of seeing them. This new Kudoke 69 is a particularly "in your face" version of the watch, but is certainly not out of the norm for these timepieces. There are some in the extremely expensive range that combine the erotic elements with animations and minute repeaters. This watch takes two concepts and puts them together. First is the beautiful open-work of a "naked" skeletonized and decorated watch, and then there is the Erotic aspect of it which
Review: Steinhart Nav B-Uhr II B-Type
Steinhart is a brand with a reputation for producing timepieces that achieve a level of craftsmanship and acute sense of aesthetic that far out pace their price tag.? Even today, having been a Steinhart devotee for some time, I find myself pausing as I peruse the Steinhart website to think “How the hell are they selling that watch at that price?” ?Not too long ago I pulled the trigger on Steinhart’s Nav B-Uhr II B-Type, a pitch perfect homage to the classic German observation pilot watch, and it has certainly lived up to the Steinhart reputation.Movement: ETA 2824-2 Swiss Made automaticCase: satin stainless steelBack: Stainless steel screwedDiameter: 44 mmheight: 14.2 mmWeight: 107gDial: blackCrystal: Sapphire domed interior non-reflectingBezel: stainless steelIndices: Superluminova white C1Lug width: 22mmWater Resistance: limitedStrap: Juchten leather brown with double studsAs noted in my initial impressions of the Nav B-Uhr II B-Type, it is a recreation of the origi
From Bell & Ross to Timex: The Heritage Military Watch
There have been a slew of vintage military style watches hitting the market recently, featuring a black face, beige symbols and a tan or brown leather band.? It's a compelling look that harkens to a timeless 1940's military aesthetic, and it seems like everyone's getting in on the action.? Here's a roundup of a few of these watches at various price points that you can pick up (or just admire from afar) today.Bell & Ross was one of the first, if not the first company to introduce the vintage military look into their lineup with the BR Heritage series.? Originally introduced in Spring 2009 with the BR 01-92 Heritage, the line now features several wathes, including the most recently released BR 123 and 126 Heritage.? These watches are obviously well outside of the price range for watches that we usually discuss on worn&wound (from approximately $3,000 to over $4,500), but with the Haritage line, Bell & Ross really set the trend for the vintage military look we're seeing everyw
Safari on a stainless bracelet..
Okay we have seen that there is always debate on on which ROO (Panda, Safari, etc)...but what about the bracelet vs strap?? Seems like a lot of you prefer bracelet over strap. Please share your thought/opinions/pros/cons of both
Why are platinum watches more expensive than good ones???
So platona is my grail and it really shocks me the price difference between platinum and gold watches!!!If you take it economically, platinum is cheaper than gold ($1006 vs $1350 per Troy once)If you take it chemically (which also reflects ease of manufacturing different metals) gold is a heavier metal (atomic weight 79 while platinum is 78) which means they are about as equally hard/easy to manufacture. If anything gold is harder being the heavier metal!!As far as rarity, gold is in more demand, hence the more expensive metal!!!Sooooooooooo why on earth are platinum watches more expensive than gold ones?!!! Other than THAT’S WHAT ROLEX WANTS!
