Chanel J12 Marine Watch
Say hello to my new little friend. Not that Chanel let me walk away with one, but I wanted to. Call me a brand whore but I love what Chanel has done with their watches. Sure I might think twice about sporting a white one around town, but these new J12 Marine watches are pretty impressive. If you recall, the standard J12 watch looks like a dive watch. It is merely a dive "style" piece, based on the core Rolex Submariner design (with a different face of course). Now Chanel released a truer diver with 300 meters of water resistant, a more dive worthy legible dial, some interesting design features. The case is 38 or 42mm wide and in black of white. Still ceramic, the black case is bead-blasted for a matte, rather than shiny finish. Though the white version is still done with a glossy finish. Going after Blancpain's 50 Fathoms or IWC's Aquatimer, the J12 Marine has a sapphire crystal over the rotating diver's bezel. I love that look, but it is not for everyone. The case quality is very good,
Tired of the Diver... Not!
Right when I thought I was getting tired of the Diver, I think it's the best entry level AP Happy holidays everyone! ⛄️ ❄️
AP guys in Philly?
Just wondering if any regulars here live in Philly? I'll be there next week for the holidays, and a small GTG would be fun. Any interesting watch shops in the city?
Once Liquid Metal becomes standard, How will the Limited Edition be different?
Admittedly I'm becoming obsessed with this watch -I can't wait till I get one so that I can quickly lose interest in it!But I was wondering what you guys think...I think that it is a given that after Basel 2011 all PO's will have the Liquid metal Bezel/dial..So, how will the 1948 limited editions be different? The red SEAMASTER?THE dial itself?the Words 'limited edition?or will you have to pull out the box and papers to show that it's one of the limited?
New to this section
New to Patek with the exception on my Golden Ecplise. The GE was gifted to me several years ago and has been my formal attire watch. My purposes for posting are:1. To learn more about the GE. I have done a search here and on Google. I am interested in your opinions on the model and my vintage, (3605J - I think).2. What model you would recommend for my next Patek. My budget is 10-20k.
