Independent watchmakers and Omega
I have been told that Omega will sell parts , unlike Rolex, to independent watchmakers. Can anyone confirm that?

The SMP clasp is something special
I noticed that the clasp on my SMP is really heavy duty. The clasp is thick and the buckle is meaty. The divers extension link is also sturdy, who else has noticed that this is one hell of a watch.

Proposed swap RO---5712r
Was hoping to get some opinions on a swap a friend of mine is considering to make.He has a RO time only in rose on leather that he bought from an AD 3 years ago. Believe he paid low 30s. He has a 7 day iwc portugese as well and is trying to make a swap for a 5712r on leather.He has 2 offers for the swap from two non AD , plus 17 and plus 14 cash. Seems like it's a consistent market. I encouraged him to look at new mint preowned as my 5711 is.Prices look right? Would urge new or would you be comfortable saving 5 or so k for preowned on this reference? Funny thing happened at dinner...
