Talking Watches: With John Mayer
Well, you asked for it. You got it. Today we are proud to launch an entirely new HODINKEE original video series. We're loosely calling it "Talking Watches," and these videos are just that: us, talking watches with our friends, new and old. Basically, we will use these monthly – yes, you'll get a new episode each month from here until eternity – videos to give you insight into the minds of watch collectors you might not come across in your daily life. Guys like John Mayer. In this first video, I sit down with John to talk about how he got into watches, what his first great pieces were, and what's he's been wearing on his latest tour. Since John and I first connected a few years back, I've gotten to know him well via multi-day conversations about double-references, short-lived bezel colors, and what the ideal lume plot should look like. question for newbie
Hi guys quick question. I am new to the world of Omega s. I found a watch for my wife and it has the 3320 reduced movement. Here's my question is the movement reliable and thoughts about it. The watch is lady's speed master ref Omega 3834.70.36. Thank you in advance for feedback
let's talk about me getting a vintage seamaster
I'm looking for a 50's- early 70's seamaster. I've spent the last few wks trying to educate myself. I'd take either a SS or GP, I'm interested in a ricebead bracelet. Do these stretch like the Rolex jubilees? I've got my eye on a 1961 GP seamaster case GX6250. Any words of wisdom?
My first 47mm Panerai
Well after owning numerous 44mm Panerai over the years, I finally bought myself a 47mm Panerai. I had been undecided between a 422/423 or the 372. I decided to go with a 372 as it has a clean uncluttered look. I was skeptical due to the plexi, but am happy I went this route. It has this tinted look which adds that warmth that everyone describes. I already started the strap madness as expected. Here are a few pics
My eyes!!! Gah!!!
I love Rolexes. I love guns, but man this doesn't pair right. Engraving a DJII? For what? Poor thing, not worth a damn now, I mean I get it: personalization. Go engrave a 1911, that's cool, but come on Beretta!!! And some people actually want to order this!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
