IWC and Parmigiani Go To The Oscars
Top Hollywood celebrities wore IWCs as they made their way down the famous red carpet Sunday night. Taylor Lautner wore the Portuguese Chrono Automatic, Quentin Tarantino wore the Big Pilot, and Robin Williams wore the Pilot's Mark XVI. Parmigiani Fleurier once again co-sponsored Sony Pictures Classics' pre-Oscar celebration in Beverly Hills on Saturday night. Guests included Best Actress Nominee Carey Mulligan for “An Education” along with Helen Mirren and Christopher Plummer. Parmigiani is an active partner of Sony Pictures Classics events; this is the third Oscar event Parmigiani has sponsored for the independent film company. Cartier ID Two Concept Watch: Goodbye Metal
In the slow warm Swiss summer, Cartier wrapped up its announcement of their latest concept watch called the ID Two (ID2). It is a follow-up to the ID One watch from a few years ago and while something totally different, is a serious step forward in the progress the ID One attempted to make (the futurization of the mechanical watch). There are a few ways of looking at the ID Two. You could look at it as a gear-head watch lover and be in awe, you could look at it as a luxury marketer and scratch your head, or you could look at it from the perspective of a consumer and think, "now that is pretty cool, I'd buy one for the right price." The ID Two won't be available for any price because Cartier isn't going sell any. In fact it might be worth much more to them as a marquee product and brand defining concept piece. Is this movement, the one they use for their ROO, an all in-house movement? I understand some of their chronographs use JLC parts for the chronograph part of the movement.

White gold in ss Diver?
According to Watch Time magazine, the hands and screws on the bezel are made of white gold. Anyone know if this is true? If it is, why would they bother making these in white gold?
