LAST CHANCE: LGI Watch Collector Survey + Data Sharing
The LGI operated watch collector survey that we discussed last month will very soon be coming to a close. We recommend that all collectors check it out and participate if they are interested in the results. LGI has agreed to share the survey findings with all the participants who qualify and take the survey. We think that is pretty cool. See our original post here for more details and a link to take the survey.
Seconds hand set at 12 o'clock or sweep?
Breitling Chronograph owners....I just recently purchased my first automatic chronograph, a Hamilton Khaki with a Valjoux 7753 movement. My question is this... For the longevity of the movement; should I (a) leave the second hand fixed at the 12 o'clock position or (b) set the second hand to sweep around. I know that with quartz movement chronographs, setting the second hand at 12 will prolong the battery. Thank you in advance for your insight!
Introducing my new Baby...Breitling Superocean II Abyss Silver 42mm!!
Let me introduce you to the newest member of my Breitling family, the Breitling Superocean II Abyss Silver 42mm. Not long ago I parted with a Superocean and the family felt a void. So when I saw a buddy sellingI pounced. I love the size; 42mm is a great size for both casual and dress. Breitling's 44mm's which I also love, but they don't usually go under a long sleeve very well. I like the Silver inner ring due to being more universal and less trendy but the blue & yellow I would not turn down! The rubber insert on the bezel is cool and the lume is great especially for a Breitling. What's a little unique about this Abyss is the bracelet has been slightly brushed instead of the high polished look it came with. This little touch I really like and might not be your cup of tea but now you've something to compare. Overall I give the newest Breitling family membertwo thumbs up!!
Questions for Speedmaster Racing owners
Hi all,I've been thinking a lot about a new Speedmaster Racing recently - just waiting for the Omega boutique to get the one that I am interested in (grey dial, yellow highlights) in stock so I can see it in person before committing. The staff in the boutique have been stressing the quality of the newer movement in the Speedmaster Racing series, citing the longer manufacturer's warranty as an example of its robustness. That's all very well and good, but to be honest I expect any watch I'm buying new to be solid - and whether a 3 or 5 year warranty is offered doesn't really have much sway with me.What I would really like is to hear from some of you that already own one of these - how have you found it? The watch seemed thicker than I expected when I held it (thicker than any other speedy from the look of it), but on the wrist I didn't really notice it. Have you found that you accidentally hit the watch on things? Is it annoying sitting at desks? I'd love to know a bit more about these da
