Bremont ALT1-B2 GMT Chronograph Watch
With April now upon us, we can expect a flood of pre-BaselWorld announcements as brands look to elbow their way into the spotlight of the world-famous watch fair. Bremont, the British watch brand behind such recent hits as the Victory and the Supermarine S2000, have announced two new models including a blue version of their U-2 three-hander and a stealthy new chronograph called the ALT1-B2 GMT.The ALT1-B2 GMT is essentially a civilian version of the watch that Bremont designed in a partnership with a Missouri-based B2 Stealth Bomber crew in 2012 (seen above). The base platform is an ALT1-Z chronograph, with the ALT1-B2 employing the same 43 x 16mm hardened steel case, dial layout and BE54-AE movement. The BE-54AE is Bremont's COSC tested build of the ETA Valjoux 7750 with a GMT module and offers a 12 hour chronograph, a GMT/UTC hand, and a date display at three o'clock. Just like the ALT1-Z, the ALT1-B2 features a Roto-Click internal bezel with user control via a crown at eight o'clock
The Watch I Wore The Most In 2015, By Every Single Member Of The HODINKEE Team
We've reported on hundreds, if not thousands, of watches over the past year – from the new releases at SIHH and Baselworld to rare vintage finds and expansive personal collections – but now it's time to find out what we, your HODINKEE writers, editors, and contributors, wore the most in 2015. Now in its third iteration (see 2013 here and 2014 here), this annual feature has quickly become a fan favorite – and as the HODINKEE team has grown significantly this year, it only gets bigger and better this time around. So, with 2016 just around the corner, we give you "The Watch I Wore Most In 2015, By Every Single Member Of The HODINKEE Team." Enjoy. Jack Forster C Grand Seiko GMT 1 OF 12 It’s a little difficult for me to say which watch I absolutely wore the most this year but out of all of them, I’d have to say that the likeliest candidate is probably from Seiko. The Grand Seiko GMT had a lot of competition for wrist
15400 Blue now at ADs
Was at Govberg this past weekend, and was told by one of the sales associates that the Blue AP 15400 is now available for order by ADs; that it not a boutique exclusive anymore. Not sure how true it is, but I'll let you all know when I decided to purchase one!
Aquanaut clasp macro
I took a macro shot today. Just got the macro lenses and was playing around with it. Thought I'd share. Also, put it on the rubber strap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nerdy lifecycle question...
I found this statement from Rolex interesting...THE OYSTERLOCK Crowning security - Accidental knocks and everyday gestures – not to mention climbing to rugged summits or diving to great depth – can subject the bracelet and clasp of a watch to the toughest of forces. The new generation Oysterlock fitted on Professional Rolex models underwent 26 different types of drop tests during its development. It was also immersed in tanks of chlorine and salt water with added sand, where it was opened and closed tens of thousands of times – about three times the clasp's given lifecycle – to ensure it will remain fully functional even in the harshest conditions.Which makes me wonder what the calculated given lifecycle is?
