Cartier Artistic Crafts & High Jewelry Watches For 2012
At the exclusive watch show SIHH, Cartier has one of the largest booths. A lot of their space is dimly lit with museum style showcases offering glimpses of items you probably won't see anywhere else. Given that the show is not open to the public, most people will never see these pieces at all. In the cases are a range of artistic and high-jewelry creations that the French brand has produced for the year. Some of these are piece uniques, some parts of limited editions, and some might not even be sold at all. Whatever the nature of the item, I am usually sure to find at least a few beautiful things. Not all of these items are watches, but most are. High-jewelry (or haute joaillerie as it is often known) enjoys having "mystery display" watches where dials are only revealed after opening or sliding something to the side. That is certainly the case with an item I have not covered in this article, but will in a separate piece. It is just too amusing to be part of a pack, and is how Cartier do
Are Educated Watch Buyers More Valuable Customers?
Like all industries, the world of timepieces is an ecosystem. Watches are designed, produced, and eventually purchased. That latter part of the necessary cycle is one that is complex and difficult to understand - especially for watch writers and enthusiasts who typically have only their own experiences to reference. Most of the time, the relationship that brands have with journalists and consumers is very different and separate than the relationship that watch retailers have with journalists and consumers. This separation isn't always a good idea and often causes a large gap between the perceptions people buying watches have and those that the people responsible for communicating about watches have. An overall goal of mine is to better integrate the business of the watch industry with media on the watch industry. As part of this larger goal I recently conducted a series of surveys designed to learn more about the watch retail environment, experiences that retailers have on a daily basis
Breguet marine pipeline unharmed
I have not lots purchased in the Breguet marine pipeline unharmed. It's a hypothetical to be a real frogman? Just the dash precipitated? Something diving? I intend it is called the "nautical" and birth a lash usable galosh, 300 metres from the weewee immunity and bezel of the Rotary piston. There again, it does not get the people to "Royal". It is so good mayhap a picket intended for recreational boating. Regardless of the elan or actual stem of the Sentinel, the support a rank of beautiful goodwill. sordonns adventure, but beautiful immobility. You have even the excogitation of the rotating bezel and when more marking chapter ring.
Hands-On: The Audemars Piguet Millenary Openworked, A Spectacular Design Counterpoint To The Royal O
Undoubtedly one of the most technically innovative watchmakers of the 20th century, Audemars Piguet is also one of its major creative forces. With the Royal Oak, they did with watches what Apple and Nike were able to do with computers and sneakers – that is, to subtly alter the usual lines of a standard product, and turn it into an icon. 1 OF 9 In fact, Audemars Piguet has been able to create not one, but two of the most recognizable timepieces of the modern era – the Royal Oak and the Millenary. The Royal Oak's design is widely lauded as a stroke of genius today, but at its launch many found it either disturbing or implausible or both. The Millenary, on the other hand, is just as instantly recognizable, but has had to follow an even longer road to acceptance and appreciation. We feel it definitely has the potential to rise to the status of a design icon for AP; after all, it's as visually distinctive as the Royal Oak. It is true, though, that the two
