In-Depth: PHOTO REPORT: Inside The Breguet Museum In Paris
This is one of the those places that if people only knew existed, would be an absolute hot spot on the global watch lovers tour. Sitting above Breguet's beautiful boutique on the Place Vendôme in Paris is a Breguet museum, and a remarkably impressive one at that. It's a museum that until I visited it this past week, I, frankly, did not even know existed. And if you're a fan of horology at all, it is nothing short of a "must-see". Here's why:Breguet as we know it today is a large and somewhat secretive manufacture of high-end timepieces. They regularly tout themselves as some of the finest watches in the world, and they've spent a literal fortune on ensuring that watch lovers en masse know this is indeed the brand founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet, indisputably the most important watchmaker that ever lived. That's all well and good, but it's very easy to gloss over all that without actual SEEING the connection between the Swatch-owned
Thoughts on a two tone 5402 acquisition?
I have found locally a two tone gold/steel. And I need your kind input on this buy. Is it worth it, is better than the 15202 in terms of value at it's price point of nearly $11k?Baring in mind it was serviced professionally by x JLC watchmaker. It comes with letter of Authenticity from it's origin without orignal box or paper. Thanks in advance,
Introducing my First Omega (bought last night)
Hello There... :)I have just added an Omega in my collection of vintage watches. It's an 1965 14k DeVille with calibre 620.All originalNever Used...never restored... I would have been happier if the dial was a little bigger...but I was happy that it is so slim....this will be my watch of choice with suits...It was a random find...I had no intention of buying a new watch anytime soon. Especially since I bought a rolex last month. But I saw a posting on CL that some guy was selling this thing and wanted 2000 for it....something got me interested and we got it authenticated and struk a deal at close to half of what he wanted.Watch runs a little fast...nothing a good service and tune-up would not fix....According to the scribe in the case, it was last services in 1993...It ways a good 41.1 grams (with movement, case and bracelet...)Case, Chain and Crown are all 14k solid gold.Since it's an integral bracelet, I am glad it fits me perfectly :)I have attached some pics... I happy very happy wit

Does anyone have this? Could you post some pictures? I think this is the one I want, but the only pictures I've seen online are of the face of the watch (amazon, alan furman). If you have this particular reference, do you like it? I like the markers better than the 2264.50, but how do the skeleton hands work for you? Thanks in advance- Chris
Thoughts....
Thinking of adding this to my collection. What are your thoughts?
