I decided and its here!
Just started looking at APs a week ago. Needed the perfect watch to wear all day to work (casual atmosphere) and just bumming around - kids events, ball game, pool etc...I have a 1 month old platona for evenings and dressier occasions (even though it makes a great all day watch - except its missing a date!!)...After deicing on 44mm (even though 42mm is probably better for my small(er) wrist, It was a very tough decision between RG and ceramic. I finally decided on ceramic and I'm glad i did. The RG is stunning - but at its size I think its too in your face for me to wear daily. Ill just admire from afar.past watches - SS DJ, SS GMT II C, WG subcollection is only two strong - quality over quantity right?!?!Now - best place to buy a black strap with red stitching to match the hands ?how many of you swap out the pin for a deployment clasp?Anything i need to know about my new watch? Again, I'm very new to AP. I never even saw one in person before buying mine. Thanks!
questions on this watch
Hey guys, this is my first time posting here and i was thinking about purchasing this.any input.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=280463regards,Edwin
How's it even possible ?
Two years ago I registered my name for the 5711 Nautilus (waiting list) and yesterday when I called them (local AD) just to know the status I was told that they didn't receive the watch since 2014.I know its a plain lie.Just want to know what you guys think of it ?
Estimate Received Routine Maintenance
I sent my 3710 Comet to Henri Stern in NYC for routine maintenance and case/bracelet polish. After a month of waiting just for the estimate, it came today: $1,725.I was prepared for the sticker shock when I sent it, because the prices are clearly indicated on the website (although I hadn't accounted for new hands at $120 and shipping/insurance for $50, no big deal). Here's what is really PI$$ING me off: estimated repair time after authorization is received: 20 weeks. FIVE MONTHS PEOPLE!Their most aggressive plan for maintenance is every three years. So theoretically, day one I send it in, wait a month for estimate, wait 5 months for return, wear 36 months, send it and wait a month for another estimate, wait 5 more for repair...Let's count...Over 48 months I get to wear it 36 months. 75%!They're right...You never actually own a Patek Philippe... you merely lease it! In my case, $95.83 per month for the months I can wear it.What a deal.
