On the fence...
Hi all,I have been thinking about getting an AP rubberclad for quite some time now. Today , I had the opportunity to try one on, and i wasnt that impressed. Over the last few month i have been marveling at photos and wrist shots, day dreaming of the moment i owned a ROO rubber. I dont really know what is was that turned me off . maybe it was the feel of the rubber strap that felt more like plastic to me . maybe it was the fact that i have been wearing a DSSD everyday now for a couple of months, and in comparison the rubberclad felt like a swatch on my wrist. i dont really know where this post is going so maybe you can guide me somehow. should i abandone my pursuit of an AP and turn my attention to another rolex ( I Probably shouldnt of have posted on an AP forum)? Opinions ? Any other AP references in my price range that might tickle my fancy?Below is a wrist shot. What do you guys think?Sorry for the crappy phone pics, its all i had at that moment.
Problems with my new Speedy Pro
Hi Folks, I'm new to the forum and a new WIS so I figured I could ask you guys for advice. I purchased my first nice watch a little over 1 month ago as a present to myself for turning 40 and it was an Omega Speedmaster Pro. Up until a few days ago I've been thrilled with the watch...it keeps time to perfection and I have not been able to notice it losing or gaining even 1 second per day. However the chronograph stopped on me a couple times starting a few days ago. I had to reset it with several clicks of the buttons to get it working again. And now when I reset the Chronograph it unreliably resets in different places each time. This happens not only with the large second hand but also with the small minute counter on the right side of the dial. Sometimes they reset at the 1'clock position, sometimes the 11'oclock position...but never at 12'oclock where they are supposed to. I'm quite frustrated over this. I splurged on this watch and bought it brand new (I know I'm probably a
Question to other Canadians
I am purchasing a Speedy in the US, am I better to have it shipped to Canada and pay the taxes (13 per cent) plus possible brokerage fees or bring it home with me and get the $800 duty free allowance, however I will have to pay the state sales tax (7per cent) I think it is likely a wash either way. I could just no declare it, but how do I explain the box and other papers. I am not comfortable at being a smuggler it not just not in me, besides I would hate the fine and being on their watch list forever. Any thoughts!
Madrid/Barcelona AD - hope to score
I am going to Madrid and Barcelona next week and want some recommendations on AD with good inventory and possibly some hard to find timepieces such as 5711s....Many thanks!
