Is A Garmin Going To Be Your Next Smartwatch? CES 2015 Watch Lineup Looks Strong
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, smartwatches were unsurprisingly a dominating area of new products from both establishes companies and ones new to the game. Garmin looks to be leading the pack with an unprecedented array of new smartwatches ranging from the top-of-the-line Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire and Epix, to the various "Vivo" products (vivofit 2, vivosmart, vivoactive) that are wearable activity tracking and notification bracelets. More on those in a bit.Garmin vivofit Style Collection Signature SeriesAn initial inspection of what was debuted in terms of smartwatches at CES 2015 doesn't actually show huge amounts of technological innovation, but rather a great focus on fitness wearables and products that people who are even remotely design conscious want to wear. One lesson that brands are learning is that wearables that merely serve as phone notification devices aren't extremely interesting. Having said that, companies are still including phone notification functions in
Pre-Baselworld 2014: Introducing The Hublot Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono, The Official Watch
In the 1970s there were special chronographs called "Soccer Timers" with markings on the registers for counting the 45 minute halves of a match. Hublot has taken things much further here with the Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono, building a mechanism from the ground up that is optimized for this function. The two retrograde hands clock the seconds and minutes on a specially designed scale and a window at the center of the dial shows which half is being timed. The main timekeeping is separated in a smaller dial at 6 o'clock, so you can wear the watch off the pitch.??The foundation of the?Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono is the new in-house movement. The caliber HUB1260 was built using the same dual-coupling column-wheel technology as the UNICO caliber, but with the marked difference of having two center-mounted retrograde hands for the chronograph mechanism. This 385-part movement is the first bi-retrograde caliber from Hublot and is patent-pending. 2 OF 3 You're pro
Where to find a nice vintage Navitmer
Guys,A Navitimer has been on my wish list for a while now and I foresee one in my future within the next few months. I have spent about 4 months deliberating between the 43mm or Vintage with a flirtation in between with the Sinn 903. Whilst preferring the Breitling I am more inclined to look towards the 41mm size hence Vintage would seem to be a logical choice. All that said Vintage is a new world for me, its a scary world at that and I am keen to avoid the likes of trusted sellers that may not be known to me or worse still the likes of ebay. With this in mind a Bricks and Mortar Vintage dealer would be a preferred choice - any tips on where to start looking?
Just added to my collection, feel free to add yours!
Just pick this up couple hours ago, my new Speedmaster Panda.
The Jury rests, I'm done.....
Well after six years of serious flipping and owning basically every single model other than a day date or sky dweller, I can truly say that my collection is complete. I honestly know that I've never truly thought that before. I had become addicted to the thrill of buying a new watch and somehow got a way of enjoying the pieces that I've worked hard to collect. I did a rough count the other day and Ive bought over 30 pieces in the past six years . I do feel for me at least that the perfect number is three, but my collection sits at four. Of the four I have, I've bought the BLNR four different times and the blue Milgauss three different times, only to miss them like crazy! I'm glad the flipping train has finally come to an end. The only other move I was contemplating was the blue sky dweller or a blue sub, but after finally seeing the blue sky dweller and getting to wear a friends blue sub for a few days I now know I'm done. At least until something Basel BLOWS me away.......Sent from my
