Who says you can’t go home again? Horological history repeated itself last week at Dresden’s Royal Palace, where A. Lange & S?hne introduced the limited-edition Lange 1 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, a watch made to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Saxon brand’s iconic Lange 1 watch, which debuted at the same venue two decades prior.October 24, 1994, marked the rebirth of the A. Lange & S?hne watch brand, founded in Glash��tte, in the German state of Saxony near Dresden, in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolphe Lange. Dormant since 1948, after the post-War occupation of East Germany by the Soviet Union, the brand was resurrected by the founder’s great grandson, Walter Lange, in the German reunification year of 1990. It was four years from the foundation of the modern-day A. Lange & Sohne brand to the release of its first collection, which took place at the Royal Palace of Dresden and was headlined by the timepiece that would become the company’s unquesti

New Watch Brand Carbon14 Offers Environmental Award
New watch brand Carbon14 launched last month at Ecofest, New York City’s largest environmental conference and festival. More than 10,000 people attended the multi-day event. The brand, also known as C14, offers 3 collections called Air, Earth, and Water. To spotlight the brand’s environmental focus, it is offering the $50,000 C14 Environmental Award. The purpose of the Award is to highlight the work of “ordinary people doing extraordinary things” to help the environment. Nominations can be submitted via the brand’s website. Votes for nominees will be cast online, and the 20 nominees receiving the most votes will be reviewed by a panel of judges that includes Sheryl Crow, host of Discovery Channel's Planet Green Summer Rayne Oakes, environmental scientist Felicia Keesing, founder/CEO of CauseCast Ryan Scott, and Carbon14 CEO Robert Hollander.
