Truth In Watch Movement Advertising And Defining Watch Caliber Origins Once And For All
Rolex currently produces in-house made movements for their entire watch collection, but that wasn't always the case. A few small parts today may still come from niche third-party Swiss suppliers. The movement of a watch is the engine inside of it which "makes it work." I understand that novices to the world of watches may not even be aware of what "watch movement" means. Watch movements are generally classified as mechanical or quartz (electronic), and are, in many ways, what draw people to purchase or desire a particular timepiece. Drawing an analogy from the world of cars, you don't necessarily buy a new vehicle simply because of the engine inside of it and its claimed performance, but because of the complete design, driving experience, and mechanical performance put together. Like car engines, when it comes to watch movements, there is no lack of topics to discuss.Today, we will be discussing a very important matter concerning watch movements: who made them, and where they come from.
Undated Warranty Book
HelloI am considering to buy a Pre-Owned ROO (discointined, so have to go Pre-Owned). The watch is in great conditon and is authentic as far as I can tell. There is one thing though which I would like to seek your help that the warranty book was undated and without stamp by any AD. Is this something I need to worry about? Given the watch's age I am sure it's out of warranty period but in case I need to bring to watch to AP for service will there be any issue? Many thanks Ken
Ruined!
I've had quite the Panerai collection but I've found myself increasingly only wearing one. The 372 has ruined the brand for me and I can honestly say that (for now) I'd be content if I only had the 372 as my sole Panerai - and it's not even gold! Have you been ruined by a particular model?
grey versus AD
Hi all,I'd appreciate any expertise and opinion. Given that I've never purchased or have a relationship with an AD, should I expect to pay full MSRP plus tax from an AD, or maybe just MSRP? I'm asking specifically for a popular piece like the BLNR, granted I can find one. Aside from the experience of purchasing brand new from an AD and focusing sheerly on cost, I'm trying to figure out at what price it'd be about the same if I bought from a BNIB from the grey market, even if it's marked up. Anything else I'm missing? Thanks.
Striking resemblance
Any fans of Ridge Wallets? Got the new blue one and sure matches the blue dial DJ II (in person better than this amateur pic)! Happy Friday everyone!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
