Rotonde de Cartier Annual Calendar
At SIHH this week Cartier unveiled the new Rotonde de Cartier Annual Calendar with the all-new manufacture caliber 9908 MC. All indications are set via the crown, and the 45 mm case is available in white gold or pink gold. The annual calendar mechanism is incorporated into the plate of the 1904 MC caliber. The in-house design for the movement includes a semi-instantaneous mechanism for converting the large date into two independent numerals (over a one-hour conversion period), which requires less power and so helps to ensure maximum chronometric stability. In this system, the four-branched star-wheel corresponding to the tens column is turned by the catches located on the large unit disc. This unit disc carries within it a simple mechanism which, thanks to a cam bearing a memory of the months incorporated directly into the lightened rims of the units of the date device, makes it possible to display without any possibility of error the months having 30 or 31 days, once the current month
Tissot Sea Touch Diving Watch: Officially Announced
While I knew it was coming, the official announcement for the Tissot Sea Touch watch is here. In early January I picked up rumblings on the Internet of a new Tissot T-Touch watch called the Sea Touch (read more about it in the link). Some prototype images and speculation aside, it was pretty obvious what the new diving-centric T-Touch line watch was all about. It is now clear that there will be rubber and steel bracelet versions. The case of the watch will be steel as well (not titanium as I previous speculated, as at the T-Touch Expert is made). That is OK, as steel has proved to be an excellent material for diving watches. As for the sapphire touch screen crystal, I am so happy that it seems to work underwater and with gloves. The Sea Touch is all about diving looks and diving features. While the T-Touch is a capable diving watch, it's functions are designed for land use. The Sea Touch adds a depth gauge, dive log book, and various important information like rates of ascent and descen
RICHARD MILLE RM 50-02 ACJ
This is no ordinary partnership. The collaboration between Richard Mille and Airbus Corporate Jets has been sealed by a timepiece designed together. The RM 50-02 ACJ was unveiled at the SIHH in Geneva and takes us on a first class flight to the land of luxury watches. Welcome on board the manual wind movement with a tourbillon and split seconds chronograph to measure intermediary time housed in a high-tech case made of a titanium and aluminium alloy to make it sturdy yet lightweight. The porthole design is topped by a ceramic bezel so we can see into the cockpit of an exceptional calibre with titanium components. A twin indicator enables you to wind and use the chronograph. It reviews pressure on the spring to avoid it being too slack or tight. Sit back and enjoy the 70-hour power reserve displayed on a digital scale at 11 o' clock. Price: 1,079,500 CHF (limited edition C 30 available). Dan Diaconurichardmille
Hands-On: With The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5377, The World's Thinnes
With its namesake the inventor of the tourbillon, Breguet has a lot to live up to when it comes to innovating the complication. The Classique Tourbillion Extra-Plat Automatique 5377 does not disappoint. Not only is the watch extremely thin (the thinnest automatic tourbillon in the world), but the off-center tourbillon also uses a titanium cage surrounding an anti-magnetic escapement. The styling still refers to the classic guilloché dials that Breguet is known for, but with a slightly more pared down overall aesthetic, giving the watch a more contemporary feel. This is a tourbillon that combines the best of traditional executions with thoroughly modern watchmaking technology, and here we go hands-on with the new platinum edition. 2 OF 11 At only 7mm thick, the Extra-Plat is currently the thinnest automatic tourbillon in the world. It was first introduced in 2013 in rose gold, and now it is available in a 42mm platinum case. There is the same smooth, thin bezel and

My first real timepiece! A buddy of mine has been eyeing another watch for a while now and decided to get rid of this to help fund it. I was saving up for a PO, but the price was too good to pass on. The crystal is in perfect shape, but the band could use some polishing. No biggie. I absolutely love this watch! Sorry, pic isn't too great.
