ArtyA Son Of Sound: The High-End Guitar Watch
In the last year Swiss art watch brand ArtyA has transformed itself from extremely avant garde "creative" watches to something like this guitar head-shaped Son of Sound collection. The brand was once about just creating totally one-of-a-kind watches that combined the work of an artist and watch maker. The "piece unique" moniker was more a result of that production style versus an effort. For example if you take a steel case and "deface" it (as founder Yvan Arpa liked to say) with electricity and machines by hand, no two cases are going to look alike (i.e. "piece unique"). Thematically, ArtyA watches contained everything from fossilized dinosaur feces to human blood and actual butterfly wings.Meeting with Mr. Arpa is always (always) a treat. But the lack of cohesion in his collection or offer of regular models made ArtyA a very difficult brand to cover. Then the Son of a Gun collection?came around and things sort of started to change. ArtyA found a collection that it could really build

ROC or Patek 6000g?
I've been given an opportunity to add a steel ROC black dial or Patek Calatrava white gold with grey dial to my collection. Both come with box and papers.I am torn between the two as I like both. I know they're different animals but which one do you think has the edge/ a better buy?Comments (good and bad) appreciated!
Tudor Black Bay - Customized Leather
I'm thinking it might be possible to find a 3rd party leather strap and transfer the deployment buckle onto it. The deployment buckle is removed from the leather via a very normal spring bar assembly. In order to do this, the leather strap would need to be 22mm wide, tapered to 17.5-18mm where it connects to the deployment buckle. The other side would have the same 20mm-to-18mm taper. The end that is connected to the deployment buckle would need to be about 60mm/2.3in long while the end with the holes in it would need to be about 130mm/5.1in long. This would give us endless opportunities to customize yet retain the very cool Tudor-branded deployment system.Anyone have any good recommendations where I might start hunting for straps that could match the above, or come close? This is a thought experiment for now. But if I found another good (plain) leather strap that seemed to fit, I'd try it out.
114060 Submariners available at DFW Texas AD
I stopped at a local AD in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas to check stock and learned they received a shipment of watches. The Hulk and BLNR were sold before they hit the case. If anyone is looking for a ref 114060 Submariner send me a PM for location. They have (2) available. I Hope this helps someone who may be on a list.
