Seiko Superior SSA059 Review
It's hard to argue with a good Seiko. Affordable, well built and generally cool looking; they sort of define value in mechanical watches. Typically, we've reviewed watches from the Seiko 5 series, which range from absurdly affordable to incredibly affordable. Today, we're going to take a look at a Seiko Superior, which is a couple of rungs higher on the Seiko product ladder. Coming in at $250, still quite low in the scheme of things, the Seiko Superior SSA059 is packed with features, looks wild and is a limited edition of 2500.The SSA059 caught our attention for a few reasons; one was the intense look of the watch. With a black case and dial accented with acid green markings, interesting layering, texturing, compass functionality and a rugged nylon bund strap, this is a robust watch with a very aggressive attitude. It also is fitted with internal and external bezels, which is fairly uncommon. Lastly, is that this uses the relatively new Seiko 4R37A automatic movement, which we were sim
Prices of 5167 Aquanauts
Hi everyone,Is the outlook on the prices of PP 5167 Aquanauts taking the direction of the 5711s? I bought one (bracelet full set and then bought the rubber strap and deployant) a while back for around 18k when prices looked around 19k online. Now they seem to be listed for 22-23k? I've heard waiting lists are now getting long as people give up on the 5711s.Received an offer of $21.25k earlier in the week, wondering if I should take the cash or hold on. I still love the aqua especially swapping between rubber and bracelet but it's received less wrist time especially on bracelet since I got the 5711 white.Personal opinion is the aquanaut is freaking awesome (on par with the 5711 in finishing, style etc).Thoughts?
Report on my Patek 5205G...............
The first six weeks with my 5205G………This is the first review of a watch that I have ever done, so please bear with me, especially if the construction of it , is not quite in sync!As most of the regular members will know, and probably frustrated after, I have been in love with this piece, especially with the darker coloured (grey) dial from the moment that I first saw the photos that came out from Basel 2010. So much so that when I saw a dummy model at my AD the following month, I asked them to let me know, when the first one came in. In the meantime, not having the cash available for such a purchase, I went about doing some “Wheeling & Dealing” of my small collection, which included my FP Journe Black Label Calendrier, which to a degree I still very much regret selling. Long story short, I received a phone call from my AD back in September asking me if I was still keen on getting a 5205G? Yes was my reply, so after a small deposit had been placed and
BLNR with Oyster Flex bracelet
Apologies if this has already been posted. AD said that he could get an Oyster Flex bracelet for my BLNR, I wondered if anyone had tried this and do you have a picture?
Oyster Steel
Can someone explain to me if there is a difference between 904 L Steel & Oyster Steel. The latter has been used to describe the Steel used in Rolex Watches this year
