MeisterSinger Benjamin Franklin Watch
Ol' Ben Franklin has been having a big month. Not only has the founding father been revealed as secondary mascot of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team, MeisterSinger have released a watch honoring his life. It may seem strange to US citizens that a German brand would create a watch in homage to a famous American, but Benjamin Franklin is highly thought of in Europe as well as in his native New World. The release of the MeisterSinger Benjamin Franklin watch remembers the man who made such good use of the time he had on this Earth.A frequent visitor to England, Franklin was friends with some very important people in the London area. He was reputedly a member of Sir Francis Dashwood's Hell-fire Club that met in the chalk caves of West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. There, they discussed politics, pretty girls, and where to find the best pint of English ale. Franklin had an interest for horology, which was further stoked by a 1770 visit to England, where he happened upon famous horologist J
ROO yearmake 2007
Hi Gentlemen,To be honest, I don't know much about watches. I think this place is the best place to seek for comments & advises.I've been wearing a Rolex Datejust, a gift from my Dad, for many years, & now I want something casual for night-outs & am currently in love with the AP ROO now because of the style & the brand, but don't know much about it.I've just visited a local watch shop & saw the 1 in the attachment & I fall in love with it right away. The salesman showed me the the box & all, & it's made in 2007. The shop's replaced the new leather traps. & He quoted me $15k for this ROO. I have not made any bargain yet because I think this's not a good deal. I dont know...just a gut feeling, I could be wrong, so please educate me.My very first question is, with $15k, can I get a much newer AP ROO? if so, from where please?for $15k, can I get a same style but much better watch than AP ROO?I don't plan to sell the watch soon, however, re-sell value is s
Speedy for graduate
My son is graduating this May and we would like to reward him for his hard work with a speedy. Not sure which would be a good first quality watch for a 21 year old computer engineer. I see some can get up there in price. What are the differences? Any recommendations? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Broad Arrow
Can someone explain where the Broad Arrows fit in the Omega collection? I follow Omega but only own a Speedy Pro. I don't quite understand what the BA's were originally and in more current editions.I've got the same question about the Schumachers, too. Are they using the same movement (the original models) as the Speedy auto's or is there a difference? Thanks.
Quick question... Rolex as gift
Hey folks,First time posting in the Rolex section so forgive me for any noob questions. I'm looking to buy three rolexes for my brothers and I as a gift. It'll be either the GMT- Master II or Submariner Date (all in steel - although I might get the steel/yellow gold for myself). A few questions:Are these usually sold at discount? If so, how much of a discount? If answer to #1 is no, if I buy three, is there a discount? If you were me, would you pre-pick the model and color or let them pick? Here are the ones I would choose from (or let them choose)Rolex by E L, on FlickrThanks for your inputEdwin
