Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends January 30, 2015
It is January, the beginning of a new?year, and that can only mean one thing for us watch enthusiasts:?SIHH! It is hard to find an overarching theme for this year's show, but there seems to be something for everybody. There are lots of new high-end watches, such as the A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Grande Complication. But there are also an equal number of more affordable pieces, especially from Montblanc, such as the Meisterstuck Heritage Chronometrie and Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum. Join us as we take a look at some of the interesting pieces that debuted at this year's SIHH.SIHH aside, another thing that was on the mind of many is the sudden removal of the cap of the Swiss Franc's value against the Euro. This took everyone by surprise and led to a surge in the value of the Swiss Franc C which should, theoretically, hurt exports. Famous Australian Adventurer -- And His Speedmaster
I'm going crazy...well, MORE crazy. I remember reading an article about a famous Australian adventurer/backpacker that wore an Omega Speedmaster while in the bush. The article included a bunch of pictures of the well-worn watch...including a missing pusher. I'm pretty sure it was on Hodinkee...but I can't find it.If I remember correctly, he liked to use the watch to keep tracking of the amount of time he had been walking. Anyone?

Question on Speedy Movements
Guys, need your help. I'm in the market for a Speedy, but possibly leaning towards a date complication. Depending on the reference, I note they are cheaper than the iconic 3570 or 3573. Is it because the 1164 or 3304 movements are inferior & less dependable than the 1861 or 1863 movements?Appreciate your thoughts.
