Rebellion 540 Magnum Tourbillon Watch: Pedal-To-The-Metal Horology
When it comes to cars and watches, there's a definite link. For some brands (be it car or watch) that linkage can be a bit more tenuous, and may consist of a logo swap. For the folks over at Rebellion?though, they're taking it to a whole different level. For starters, they've actually got a racing team - one that raced in the Le Mans Series Championship (2011) and FIA World Endurance Trophy for Privateers (2012). This means they're used to creating high-end, precision, lightweight components for their cars. From what I can see of their latest watch, it seems their horology follows in the same footsteps. The 540 Magnum Tourbillon makes liberal use of materials commonly found in race cars: magnesium; aluminum; titanium; and carbon fiber. Surprisingly, these materials show up in the movement. The mainplate is made of aluminum, while the 3/4 back plate is made from carbon fiber. I've seen plenty of CF dials and even cases, but this is the first time I recall seeing the material used within
Tissot Racing-Touch Watch For 2011
For the last few years we have gotten a new Tissot T-Touch style watch each year. Last year it was the Tissot Sailing-Touch, and for 2011 it will be the Racing-Touch (Racing T-Touch). Here is a sneak peak as what Tissot's new T-Touch model will be all about.Like the T-Touch Trekking, the Racing-Touch seems to be thinner in size, but I am not sure how wide (UPDATE: 43mm in steel for now). For the first time the T-Touch gets a rotating dive style bezel as opposed to a navigational style bezel. The touch-screen Swiss ETA quartz movement gets a few new features. One of them (not new) is oddly not "racing inspired" being a Tide graph. This seems to replace the "Meteo" function that was a weather predictor using the barometric pressure. If the watch is about track racing, I am not sure how the Tide function fits in, but is nevertheless cool. The Tide function was first seen on the Sailing-Touch watch. The watch also feature a "Lap" function which seems to supplement the Chronograph (that is n
ROO 44mm rosegold
Hello TrfLast weekend I went to Rome and came home with a brand new PP5711, which was all good, almost. Problem is that I during some sightseeing came by a local AP boutique and ventured inside. The service was pleasant and very service minded. I tried a couple of nice watches but it was not until I tried the ROO Lightning struck ;-)I have never had the watch on my radar being 44mm and way to large. But I'm a semi-big guy just above 100kg and when viewed in the mirror it looked perfect. Now I'm giving hard thought flipping my gold GMT and date just II, adding a little cash and getting a rose gold ROO. After seeing the AP live my gold GMT feels cheap and the finish seems dull. Nobody where I live knows AP and I like that. How do you think the ROO in rose gold will hold up as a daily driver, office-work? I'm thinking the more scratch resistant bezel will help reducing daily tear. I like the thought of having a really nice daily driver and not just something I put on on occasion. RegardsA

Datejust 41 vs Datejust II
I went to 2 local ADs, neither had a true comparison but based on al the pictures ive seen online, it seems the DJII is a little bigger?! Is this true, does anyone have both or have seen both can chime in? The flutes on the new 41 DJ seems to be smaller, the whole watch seems to be daintier, regardless of what bracelet it is on. Am I off? Please help. thanks
