5990-1a or 5960-1a
Just picked up the 5980-1r but already thinking of other moves...(still need to move the skyD as part of the 5980-1r transaction as promised to the wife). Now thinking whether to swap the 44mm RG ROO and jumbo for a 5990-1a or 5960-1a. The only concern is 5990-1a may be too similar to 5980-1r but 5990-1a would allow me to wear to work as I usually do not wear gold to work. Seeking expert advice from all the great members of TRF.
Titanium plots and SS plots... (strap links)
I know it's really random but just out of interest...Do the standard titanium plots and ss plots have same tone/color?In some pictures titanium looks darker but not too sure...Those of you who have models like FC diver and other Offshores, do the plots look the same in tone?
I ventured "off the reservation" ( i.e. Rolex) to get a vintage Chronograph...
I can't justify making the very substantial investment in a vintage a Rolex Chronograph so I ventured into the world of Breitling and just got this beauty back from my watchmaker after a complete overhaul and new factory Crystal installation. Jason will be happy to hear that I did just say No to polishing. This not so little (48mm) gem is a Breitling Chronomat ref. 0818 dating back to about 1969 with a very robust Venus cal. 178 under the hood. I love it and just had to share.
Vintage Speedy Mk II - Strange Time Loss Pattern?
For a vintage watch, my old 1969 Speedy keeps almost perfect (- 5 seconds in 14 hours) time when wound up & then laid face up on a flat surface, but whilst still very accurate given it's age, looses time at slightly over twice rate that when worn.Any thoughts?
Pam 337 or 512....
Thinking of flipping my Rolex Explorer polar for either a 337 or 512. Anyone here have either watches? Any advice?
