CX Swiss Military Hurricane Limited Edition Watch - Exclusive Announcement
This new limited edition watch from Charmex's CX Swiss Military Watch is the Hurricane, and is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain! For a neutral country, Switzerland has a lot of "military" stuff, and likes to commemorate battles. Why did I just realize how ironic that was? So, German failure in 1940 has given this Swiss company the ability to make a cool watch. If only they new how much defeat meant back then...Swiss Military wants the Hurricane to be the new benchmark in modern aviation watches. What does that mean? Not totally sure. I don't think aviation watches can have a bench mark with so many different types out there, but this is certainly a nice piece. My only problem with it are the dinky hands, but it isn't any less legible than most Breitling pilot watches. It even has a slide rule - so it must be an aviator then! The Hurricane name is based on the famous single engine British fighter plane that was part of the RAF (Royal Airforce). You can see one o
Anyone want some AP Swag
Hey guys, I got some AP swag sent my way today from my AD. He sent me a single watch travel case, a leather Italian-made AP wallet, and an AP golf hat. I never wear a hat nor do I have much use for the wallet so I figured I'd offer those two up to our fellow community of AP fans. If anyone would like either the hat or the wallet, let me know and I'll send it your way. Happy Hump Day!
Incoming.....
My new 26470st I series from Patrick (OCROLEXGUY) dealing with him was a pleasure... I'm going to pick up my new bracelet this week too!
Funny story... Venting...
On my lunch break today I walked into a Mayors (just to take a look... and then call DavidSW once decided ). I was wearing this by chance. image.jpgOne of their younger staff members (cute girl..) attends me and I ask to see some DJII's I've been considering (blue dial with romans if you're interested). I try it on and we're chatting. While i had the DJII on she asked if she could pick my AP up off of the mat to take a look and i said of course. She starts telling me about how they've been focusing sales efforts on Rolex and Pateks and have dropped a few other brands such as Omega. I then crack a joke about that they should carry AP ... AND she responds with not sure about that as we only carry premium brands at which point I bust out laughing thinking she's joking. Well long story short she wasn't joking... Not going back.. Thanks for listening.
First PAM - 422 (MANY pics)! And I seem to have gone a little overboard...
... on the straps! There are just so many color combos and makers that I had to try a few of them right off the bat. This is going to be a long post with lots, lots of photos! First, a very nice, handmade, strap case by Rob Montana (The Strap Smith):In case anyone is curious, the straps are, from left to right (the last two are for other watches):1. OEM PAM rubber;2. Dangerous 9's 1926 ammo strap on a Roland Kobalia .950 silver buckle with X mas logo (this one will get a thread of it's own, what an amazing piece of history);3. PAM Assolutamente strap;4. Stone Creek's rolled edge black gator;5. Gunny's super smooth black calf;6. Stone Creek's black ammo (mounted on the watch);7. Ted Su's greyish/blue croco;8. Mario Paci's grey distressed;9. Kain Heritage's dusky brown with dlc buckleHere are some group shots of the watch and all the straps:Up close...Some gratuitous lume shots:And the obligatory wrist shots, along with some individual strap shots :And, finally, the gorgeous case back:I
