The Jorg Gray Clint Dempsey Limited Edition Game Timer Watch + Interview
In the wake of adding soccer star Clint Dempsey to their list of ambassadors, watch brand Jorg Gray has announced a new limited edition watch to commemorate the partnership. Clint "Deuce" Dempsey is an American soccer player who plays in both British and American leagues. Dempsey was recently traded from Fulham FC to Tottenham Hotspur FC in the British Premier League and is regarded as one of the top strikers playing today. In-Depth: The Girard-Perregaux Constant (Force) Escapement, Explained
What is a constant force escapement, anyway? That's a question we've been getting A LOT recently. You see, the term is thrown around often in this day and age, and rarely is it an accurate description of what is going on. But, a few weeks back, Girard-Perregaux invited us over to Switzerland to see what they believe to be one of the first true constant force escapements to be unveiled, by anyone. And we tend to agree. The escapement is essentially the component in a watch or clock that transfers the power stored in the mainspring (barrel) to the balan
Seeing before buying
Hi everyone,I've been trying to compare a 5167 or a 5711. I know the blue 5711 is ridiculously hard to come by and the white 5711 is also quite scarce in stores (but a shorter wait list). The discussion comes up quite frequently about comparing the two and everyone's preferences, but one thing I have been struggling with recently is actually trying to see these in person and finding which looks best on me.I've seen tons of pictures (thanks to everyone on this amazing forum!) and would definitely love to purchase my first Patek, but I have a hard time deciding on one of these watches before actually getting to see and compare them in person and trying them on. I went to my local Patek dealer this weekend and called an out-of-state one I visited a couple of months ago. Neither unfortunately had any of the three in stock. While traveling, I've tried to visit local dealers who always tell me the 5711 is a wait list item that I'll never get to see in stores.Any advice on getting to see a &g
