Omega Unveils New Limited-Edition Seamaster Diver for 34th America’s Cup
Omega commemorated the 34th America’s Cup sailing race, and celebrated its continuing role as Official Timekeeper for Emirates Team New Zealand, last week in San Francisco with the release of a special commemorative timepiece, the Omega Seamaster Diver ETNZ Limited Edition. The watch was presented to ETNZ captain Dean Barker, who has been an Omega “brand ambassador” since 2001, by Omega President Stephen Urquhart during a special event held at the ETNZ base camp in the City by the Bay. After the press conference and presentation of the watch, Team New Zealand launched its new ETNZ AC72 boat into the Bay for a training session.Omega’s association with Emirates Team New Zealand dates back to 1995, the last year that the Cup, the world’s most prestigious sailing race, was contested in the United States. That year, Omega “ambassador” Sir Peter Blake led Team New Zealand to victory in San Diego. Omega’s logo is prominently featured on the jib,
Roshan Martin Lgende Tourbillon Watch
Watch prices go up and watch prices sometimes go down (well, in a way) in response to the market. While I can't say for sure, I would venture to guess that the last 15 years have seen more activity and disparity in watch prices than any other time in history. When else in history could you get a watch for $1 or over $1 million? While the market seems to be cooling to massively priced mega watches, you simply can't stop ambition. Watch designer Roshan Martin debuts his collection, the highly limited edition Roshan Martin Lgende Tourbillon, with prices from over 500,000 Swiss Francs to over 1,000,000 Swiss Francs.Attractive and inspired by "museum watches," the Roshan Martin Lgende Tourbillon is a very high-end homage to some of the greatest classically designed watches of our history. The Roshan Martin Lgende Tourbillon watches begin with the exclusive caliber RM10-TEP manually wound tourbillon-based movements, which themselves make up much of the Roshan Martin Lgende Tourbillon wat
Scott Carpenter has died.
I just learned that Scott Carpenter, one of the original Mercury astronauts, has died. I have always admired America's first space pioneers, of which Scott was among the very first group. He was the second to orbit the Earth. As I have posted before, earlier this year, I bought the commemorative Breitling Cosmonaute, a Navitimer similar to the one worn by Commander Carpenter during that mission. The watch has a 24 hour dial. The case back bears his name.It just so happened that I am wearing that watch today, the day of Commander Carpenter's death. I'm glad to wear it today, of all days, it helps me to pause and wish Commander Carpenter Godspeed as he begins his next journey.Thank you for your service, to America and to humankind, Commander. Rest in Peace.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381438459.098688.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1381438488.983712.jpg
Patek event. (Warning pic heavy)
So, tonight I had the honour, fortune and joy of attending a Patek event at my local AD, they had a combination of fine food and champagne, and the watches that dreams are made of. Basel 2016 releases and classics (Except 5711). One of the staff kindly reminded me that the chances of having this volume of pieces in the same room together again are slim to none. So i was encouraged to seize the opportunity and enjoy it! Pictures below for you all to enjoy. I would love to upload all the pictures I've got but I've got loads. So instead here's what I've considered my favourites!Quality isn't great but that's mostly the lighting. Enjoy!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
