Watches NEWS
aBlogtoRead.com 2CAN Watch Giveaway Winner
Congratulations to Rok from Slovenia who won last month's aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer watch giveaway. This was the first international reader who got randomly chosen to receive the the giveaway prize. This makes sense as only half of aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer readers are in the US - a truly global readership. Rok opted to win the 2CAN model Sl1536cch Chronotron watch from the selection of 2Can watches that the giveaway sponsor WatchWearwatches-dealer had. You can see more details about the 2CAN watch pictured here.I like the neat looking perforated dial and the moving lugs. Rok thinks that the watch fits well on his wrist and loves the looks. Here are more words straight from him:"The watch looks really great, it's got a modern and quite a unique design. I've been wearing it for a day and already got several compliments. It wears great and the size of the watch fits me perfectly. It also looks like its very solid build, only the strap looks like it won't really last long, hope I'm wrong.
Hamilton Intra-matic Review
Hamilton is a brand that needs little introduction. Once one of the great American watch brands, Hamilton is now owned and operated by the Swiss Swatch group. Being a brand with such a distinct and rich history, Swatch has preserved the underlying aesthetic spirit and heritage of the brand by continually drawing upon their own archives for new products. These re-issues tend to stay very faithful to their original counterparts, with case and dial designs only having minor changes, but materials and movements being upgraded to today's standards. The Intra-matic, which was first (re)-introduced at Basel World 2012, is a very faithful recreation of a watch from the mid 60's. With subtle, refined details and minimal dial, the watch speaks to a time when form, graphic elements and a sense of modesty defined a casual or dress watch. The new Intra-matic takes the mid-century design vocabulary and places them in either a retro 38mm or a contemporary large 42mm case.We had the pleasure of spendin

Latest from Jim at Continental
Talked with Jim today and his health is slowly improving. He begins more therapy on the 24th but is living without the back brace for now.Business-wise, he has to vacate his retail space the end of April. He thanks everyone for helping clear out his inventory. He has sent me a list if what he has left. If you would like a copy, send me a PM with your email address.
PAM292 vs PAM505
So first off, I apologize if this topic has been beaten to death as I imagine it's a popular discussion. I have searched for info and found a bit here and there but would really love to hear a fresh comparative take on these two watches.Let me also explain my interest and how things balance for me. I've never owned a Panerai but I've been a long time admirer. After years of trying on watches, and endless hours of internet drooling, I am quite certain If I ever manage to pull the trigger it would be for a 292 or 505. I have also considered the 183, 210 and 380 but ultimately I know I won't be happy till I end up with the composite or ceramic.OK so here's my preferences and thoughts.Color and Style: I give this a very slight edge to the 505. There's something about the brown hue that is so unique and attractive to me. Also love the brown strap. However, I would be concerned that I might get slightly bored with the color scheme down the road which would push my back towards the 292
