High price items are those who put the world in turmoil, we would also like to show you things that are nice and relatively affordable. Yesterday we showed you two elements of the next sale Haslinger that while they were not watches, they are cool and they were affordable.
Athaya Vintage AV002 Lamafa Review
As the weather gets warmer, the presence of the ever popular dive watch seems to balloon exponentially. Of course, it could only be a question of visibility, as people transition to short sleeves and tank-tops and outdoor activities. The essential accessory for that warm weather, sporty look often reliably rests on the wrist with a watch that looks good and functions in and out of the pool or the ocean. With so many falling into what is affectionately called the "beater" category, it seems easy to find a satisfying look with which it isn't too difficult to part if it drops off your boat into the Sound or winds up under a dumbbell at the gym.On the higher end of the spectrum dwell watches such as the familiar Rolex Submariner and Omega Seamaster, followed on various price tiers by brands such as Squale and Zodiac, and most visibly with the classic line of Seiko divers. Inspired by the latter, a small, upstart manufacturer known as Athaya Vintage, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, has release
Jumbo 1-1/2 Link Thoughts
Still trying to figure out the bracelet on this one. I acquired a 1-1/2 link a while back and have been replacing it on and off with two regular links when the weather heats up or cools down. Would love to find a good happy medium where I don't have to visit the boutique every 4 months! Here are my thoughts, which I'm hoping some of you Jumbo wearers can comment on. The 1-1/2 link isn't really 1-1/2 of a regular link at all...it's more like 1-1/3 of a regular link (8mm versus 6mm). My thought is to have TWO of the 1-1/2 links put in place of THREE regular links. My math works out to a net loss of 2mm using this set-up...which in my mind is not a combination that you can achieve easily with only 1-1/2 link in the bracelet. I'd have to spring for another half link, but it may solve the problem.I know I'm over-thinking this but the bracelet is driving me nuts without a micro-adjustment. I'd hate to have to give up the watch simply becasue of frustration with sizing the bracelet.
Do AD employees get a discount?
I'm looking for a part time job and my AD is hiring. Yes, I know that working at an AD is no glorious job, but then again I don't know many jobs that are. I think my passion for watches and more specifically Rolex will make my time there much more enjoyable. My question: Do AD employees get a discount? If so, how big are we talking?I feel like this isn't a question I should ask them directly so I felt here was a good place to search for an answer. Its not a deal breaker, but its something that could be a big bonus. If anyone has first hand experience I love for you to share. Thanks!
