Watches NEWS
Interview: F.P. Journe On The New Women's lgante Line
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mr. François-Paul Journe to discuss the brand's new line of Women's watches, Élégante, and it was awesome.First of all, I would like to preface this article by saying that I did not think I would like this collection. When I first heard that the watch has a quartz movement, I think I rolled my eyes. BUT to my great surprise, I was very impressed with the pieces in person and now I want one for myself. 1 OF 9 The watch is everything its name suggests – elegant. The trademarked flattened Tortue case comes in platinum, red gold, and titanium. The titanium version comes with or without diamonds, which is a refreshing choice to have. All of the watches come with a sporty rubber strap with folding clasp in six colors: white, rose, light blue, midnight blue, chocolate, and khaki green. The dial is easy to read with Arabic numerals and a luminous dial. The titanium version is super lightweight and is very
15300 vs JLC Deep Sea Chrono + Reverso
I am planning on purchasing either a 15300 Blue Dial or the JLC Deep Sea Chrono + Reverso Grand Taille. My collection currently consists of mostly Rolex pieces. I have handled all of these watches, but looking for options from any owners.
2012/2013 Collections Catalog is a Must Have!!!
Our dear friends at AP left the only one they had with them for me during the Inside Basel event here in Chicago. This catalog is an absolute beauty and a must have for any AP collector. Some quick iPhone shots.
Patek- One Year + for Service and Watch Returned With a Defect
Today, after waiting a year and 3 weeks, I finally received my Patek 5110P back from service.I inspected the watch with a loupe and to my great disappointment I notice a blemish on the 22K micro rotor, which appears to be a mark or gouge (perhaps from handling with a tool). This is incredibly upsetting and the thought of sending the watch back to wait for months for them to correct it is really upsetting. Given their standards and price point, it should be perfect. After all, the finishing of these movements is a big reason why we buy these watches, and the micro rotor is the centerpiece of the 240 movement.I have contacted Patek (HSWA) and will keep you all posted as to how they handle this. In the meantime, here are some photos I took with my macro lens. The damage is on the right side of the rotor on the edge near the right hand side screw.Apparently, the QC issues continue. If they Patek does not resolve this to my satisfaction quickly and without hassle it will be the last Pate
Patek 5070r!
After much thought (and input from this board) I kept both the ALS 1815 Chrono and the Patek 5205r. Traded a couple other pieces (JLC Deepsea Chrono and IWC Chrono Classic) and a lot more cash for this 2006 edition in great condition. Thanks to Steve at Tarrytown Jewelers for making it happen. I think I'm done... for a while. Happy fourth to all.
