In-Depth: Four Complicated Rolex Models From The Past That Deserve To Be Made Again, As Seen In The
The longer one spends around the watch collecting world, the more one tends to be interested in early watches – typically those that pre-date the "modern era." What I mean by that is there is a clear division with many brands – Rolex, Omega, and Heuer, for example, all began naming watch lines in the 1950s and '60s: the Submariner, Speedmaster, Carrera, et al. But, the watches that came before these great lines of horology existed are fascinating not only because of their relative obscurity, but also because of their purity in design. In this story, I examine four watches all available in Phillips' Geneva Watch Auction Two that were made by Rolex, and they're all complicated. But, none of them fall under the category of a Submariner, GMT, Daytona, or Explorer. And there is real beauty in that. Hi guys.Just had my first high end purchase, AP Panda.Feels incredible on the wrist. Can't get enough of it :)
Incoming, my first AP.
I am in NYC for the night and finally caved to watch I've been daydreaming about since summer.I just bought a AP ROO Navy. Unfortunately it is being shipped so I cant take more pics, but I snapped one in the store. The next two days will be a long wait.
Stolen/lost watch list?
A friend of mine recently has his PP annual calendar watch stolen, and no insurance... I read that Rolex had a lost/stolen watch list you could report your missing to watch to in the event it ever appeared at a service center. I was wondering if Patek had a similar list? and if so how he could go about getting his watch on the list. Thanks.
Submariner 114060 running erratically *pic heavy*
I've had this watch for just over a week. Most of the time it runs perfectly at about +1 spd but then randomly it will gain time very rapidly. When I woke up the other day it was +18 seconds and it had been resting crown down. Yesterday I decided to sync it with my Air King and take photos every hour for awhile to document the craziness. My AD seems to think the watch is fine so I needed some proof. Yesterday the Sub gained 10 seconds in a 6 hour period and as of this writing is still 10 seconds fast which means it just randomly speeds up for a few hours then settles down. I plan on sending it to Rolex today under warranty. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
