Early Christmas for Me...
Christmas came early for me this year!I have to say that I'm pretty exited about this one. It arrived just in time for Christmas. This beautiful piece was presented in 2006 and I've been on the hunt since. After nearly 11 years the Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello II is still one of the most coveted timepieces for us collectors. This timepiece honors the Brazilian Formula One driver Ruben Barrichello. This edition was made in 3 different metals: 1000 in Titanium (mine), 500 in Rose Gold and 150 in Platinum. The feel of this timepiece is just amazing compared to other Offshores. You can feel the formula one inspiration on this piece: From the engine hex screws to the wheel shaped case back, The pushers are shaped like exhausts, cogwheel shaped crown, pedal shaped plots and the ceramic bee is shaped like a ventilated brake disc. This timepiece feels like you have a Porshe 911 GT2 RS on your wrist. The black leather strap on this piece features perforations reminiscent of soft and co
AP and 007
Just been reading something similar on the Rolex tread and thought it would be an interesting topic on here, it's a well know fact that AP turned down the opportunity to be on the wrist of a Mr James Bond 007 and be a part of the franchise. Just wondering which model you guys would have liked to have seen him in and which he would be best suited to? I'll kick things off by playing it cool and going for the 15400 ss with black face
Never seen one of these before...
I came across this watch in a junk pile at my office. It was disassembled but complete, and the movement was free of rust or corrosion. It had been sitting in a drawer, with the movement exposed to the elements, for at least 15 years. It's a 10k gold filled case with an American hallmark inside the case, the case is exceptionally well preserved. The plating is thick and undamaged. I gave it a light buff with a cape cod cloth and replaced the crystal, then had the movement overhauled. It runs great now, and it is in remarkable condition. I think the dial and hands are original too, if not a really good period redial. Since taking the photo I have replaced the crown with a period-correct Omega signed item. What's unique is that it is a calibre 510, which was a small-run manual wind movement made in a series of less than 30k examples in the 50s. It looks similar to the 30mm calibres, but it's only 25mm diameter. 30mm calibres were made in the millions, to give you an idea of how rare these
Are 116520 and 116500LN cases really exactly the same?
I have tried searching around for this info, through google and this forum. It appears that the general consensus is that 116520 and 116500LN cases are identical. However, recently I've had the chance to compare both closely and I think there are slight differences. Most noticeable are the backs of the crown guards. These two are described by dealer as unpolished.I am pretty new to Daytona's. Are these cases really different from factory?First image is 116500LN, second is 116520.
Lady's rose gold
Hi, my wife was in Singapore for a conference and wandered into an AD there (I know it's bad news...)The sales person showed her a lady's rose gold watch (she can't remember if there is a date or day date) with a single diamond at 6 o'clock and no other diamonds anywhere in the dial. The price tag was approx S$120k approx USD90k or so.I won't be able to afford it, but I'm interested to know the model. Does anyone know which model it could be? I searched Rolex website and there is no watch with diamond only at 6 o'clock.TIA.
