Hands-On: The Piaget Limelight Stella
Last week Jack wrote about the new Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P, Piaget’s major new release at SIHH 2016. In addition to this crazy skeletonized hybrid electromechanical watch, Piaget released some major women’s watches as well. The brand is actually better-known for its women’s watches and made a name for its high jewelry watches starting in the 1960s (see my article on Piaget cuff watches). For SIHH this year, Piaget released the Limelight Stella with moon phase, which is the most complicated in-house-designed women’s watch ever made in the brand’s history. 1 OF 9 The Limelight Stella features a new caliber 584P that Piaget tells us is entirely designed and made completely in-house, with another caliber (580P) designed for the haute joaillerie version that does not have center seconds, in order to show off the diamond-setting. New to AP thoughts
I was in Vegas the past few days and I always make my rounds to some of the many watch stores at the various Hotels. One watch I have not seen in the flesh was Audemars Piguet. So we went to the Shops at Crystals in the Aria Hotel/Casino. Now I have wanted the new Ceramic Daytona 116500 but waiting to get one soon will be next to impossible. So I started looking at other brands and the AP 62320ST.00.1220ST.01 white dial caught my eye. It is one beautiful piece and I want to buy it. My questions to you all are;What makes the AP worth almost double the price of the Daytona, both in stainless? Would you buy new from Boutique or from trusted seller? Because of the price is it a good everyday watch? SS flies under the radar, right now I have a TT DJII and a 16710 GMT II. Thanks for the help, I am new to AP and do not know a lot of the brand. HELP Buying first Rolex in London/UK!?
hi guysi have been following these forums for a long time trying to decide what watch to buy over the next 3 months and have decided it will be a Datejust with a fluted bezel. But i am still a watch beginner and only own a Rado, DW and few other basic watches but have been an admirer of Rolex DJ and Omega Speedmast/Seamaster for a long time. Being I'm in the UK and this site seems very heavily focused on USA seller and AD's and I just don't know where i can buy the watch?I have been looking at the ads from AD's on this forum but not sure if i can trust them as i don't want to buy a fake and especially when shipping abroad. So ideally i need a recommendation for UK/London sellers who are reasonably priced for a used model, my budget is 3-4k GBP. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy or should i risk online from USA? This is the type of watch, but i find this site watchfinder slightly expensive. I will be wearing this casually and at work, smooth bezels seem to be cheaper, is the f
