Fun at the AP Boutique
Grand complication...1 of 1??Was told this piece is 1 of 1, but not found anything about it online...notice the red number 1 in the lower-left sub-dail...anyone with deep AP knowledge able to provide additional detail. The sales staff was helpful, but not overly knowledgeable about the piece - store manager was out so I couldn't ask.
Chronomat evolution B01 thoughts?
I'm looking to buy a Chronomat evolution for my father in law. Ever since I purchased mine in 2006, he'd always mention how much he liked it and I'd catch him glancing many times. How has the B01 movement turned out as a longer term owned piece? I remember the issues with power reserve or date not changing. My Chronomat has been working perfectly since day 1. Ideally, I'd like to find him another one like mine but it's pretty hard to find one is excellent condition and preferably from the original owner. Is the B01 movement worth it?Mine..
Search for first Patek contincues... Next stop Hong Kong..
Hey guys as some of you may know my watch addiction has become critical now... After a few years enjoying Rolex's I have picked up a virus for Patek Philippe.. After looking around and trying some watches on to see what appeals to me I still didnt manage to see the one I want which is the 5980R (impossible to find) even after trying 4 Patek AD's and many grey dealers there. But after trying some Nautilus's I know the 5980R is the ONE I want and for sure will look amazing in the flesh so for now I will wait till I find one. Here are some snaps on my recent trip to Hong Kong... Hope you enjoy.
Another SD43 dilemma
Ok guys! I got offered a SD43 (for the second time) by my AD after turning the first one downI'm very loyal to my subC but with all the glowing reviews of the SD43 I'm temptedI have large wrists (7.6 ). Where my deepsea Blue is perfect for me! My sibC has a sentimental value I don't know what to do! Should I pass, again, on a great timepiece or Buy and flip?
Batman joins the Hulk
So I was lucky enough to pick up a 116610lv earlier this year which I thoroughly have enjoyed. I have since I first seen the 116710BLNR I've always fancied picking one up. On my travels I see quite a few GMT's in the blue/black in US stores but they are like hen's teeth in UK AD's. So after 4 or 5 months on the waiting list, the call from my trusted AD arrived yesterday and I am now the proud owner of a colourful GMT II.Stickers are still on, as I'm trying to decide whether to lock it away for a year or two or wear it, as I love the LV so much...It's interestingly slightly thinner than the Submariner to my eye, maybe the lesser depth rating.Anyway, I'm very happy with my collection.Interestingly they had a two tone Sky Dweller (gold/steel) for list. I was tempted but rule is always stainless sports models for me.Feeling very lucky to have picked up these two, and my AD will have another sale as soon as they find me a Sea Dweller red dot.... Now the ceramic daytona - if only....
