Dial restoration / refurbishing ? Any good source except SC?
Hi guys. I need some help.I have an AP Rubberclad white dial so i got bored of it and purchased an aftermarket Black dial for my RC model. However i did notice some slight blemish on the white sub dials and a tiny scratch on the sub dial marker and dial surface. I got the dial for a low price and wanted to get my watchsmith to to replace the dial and hands but now the marks have been bugging me. Ive seen many websites offering refinishing service for dials but im unsure of their reputation. Does anyone here knows where i can send the dial to get it refurbished as good as new other then AP service center?
Ap ROO panda
I heard that the screws are white gold, is this a fact? Was curious if this was true or not. Is anything else gold on the watch other then the rotor on the movement?
Seamaster GMT problem
Hi(Apologies for the post length but the full story may help)A couple of years ago my 50th anniversary model GMT developed a problem, the 12 hour hand was moving on intermittently and did not jump one full hour when crown turned. The guy who usually looks after my watches was too busy so i found another repairer quite local. Watch was serviced and all appeared well but after several weeks i noticed the date was changing at 0600 hours. I sent it back and it was rectified but after a few weeks it was doing the same. This went on for a while but communications broke down between us so i just wore the watch as was.The 12 hour hand is now sticking at 1000 and twitches but doesn't move on. The guy i know is not as busy now so has the watch but he can't seem to identify the problem. He is well experienced (50+ years) but doesnt use the internet hence me seeking advice. He has replaced the 24 hour wheel, setting wheel and experimented with various tensions on the date change wheel. He

Went by PP Boutique NYC. Today
First off what a pompous place OMG! I went in to try on a 5164 as I'm quite interested in making it my next purchase.I asked about Aquanauts and he starts going into how exclusive PP is and the lists are closed for Aquanauts and Nautilus.I then had to hear about the waitlists etc. etc. 5 years for the 5711. I casually rolled up my sleeve and revealed my 5711. I love the change of attitude . He then said, well maybe I can interest you in something else? He didn't offer before. Not really impressed with the inventory they had anyway. Talked for a minute about my other PP's and walked out. I called Wempe and they couldn't be nicer. They and my AD in NJ will be getting one in soon for me to see.
